I liked the first bit of this song. The tone is great and wicked. But then I realized that the whole song was like that. If the vocals could be done right i'd like the monotone. But just like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, I can see getting bored of this rather fast.

Why are we comparing Jack White and Dave Grohl? They're not similar at all...I love both of them but just get why they're being compared as they really haven't even gone down similar musical avenues...the only thing they have in common really is success : /

From the standpoint that they both can play virtually any instrument that makes music, Jack and Dave are similar musicians. Jack has a more diverse sound, but he also relys on a lot more manipulated sounds than dave. I think Dave is the more technically proficient msuican as Jack playing is sloppy from time to time, although that is part of his style. IMO Dave is the more well rounded musician, Jack is the more innovative.
