The Emerald Dream I think will be put into the game at some point whether an instance or expansion. They are touching upon it for example Ysera within Cataclysm appearing and not to mention the more interest in the Titans through Ulduar in WOTLK and Uldum in Cata and of course... Deathwing :P.

Notice at 0:18 there are only four portals, there are 4 world dragon bosses and they guard (or just roam around) portals to the Emerald Dream in Ashenvale, Duskwood, The Hinterlands, and Feralas. Tigole said "The Emerald Dream is shaping up to be extremely cool. We don't want to preview any of that content yet as it is *endgame* and we want some surprises for players. The zone is massive and beautiful. And once the content team is done with it, it will be exceedingly challenging" IT WAS A RAID!

Since this video, the Emerald Dream has been heavily updated with new textures and a larger area overall. There are some floating trees and a hilly landscape much like the one shown at roughly 0:45, all textured with a custom grass model used only in this zone.

I belive that this will be the expansion after cataclysm. (The Emerald Dream also known as the Dream of Creation is a vast, ever-changing spirit world, that exists outside the boundaries of the physical world.

The Emerald Dream is basically how the world would have been if intelligent beings, had not altered its surface. And probably we will find some new Old god who is trying to get free by destroyng the Emerald dream. So we must fight him and his minions. That is what I think will happend :S

The Emerald Dream is compleatly 100% real, in fact, i am almost sure that it will be after Cataclysm. It is currently unfinished, but it has gone a long way already. This is not fake, probably a private server though. You can read a lot about it in the book, "Stormrage"

Anyway, it's pretty impressive what Blizz is doing here. It's pretty well designed and the plants are well done. The trees are pretty and seem like something I would live in in my fantasy-land. Altogether, this place looks great.

Turn off specular lighting I think it is. All of the green untextured areas in the Emerald Dream will now have texture to them.

If it isn't specular lighting, it is one of the checkable boxes by it. I am pretty sure it is though.

@Tyrunea I have no idea why they changed it, really wish I still had the old textures. The forest with the floating trees used to have blue-ish green grass. Bizz made it that awful green around patch 1.7.

if you read the books, the emerald dream is a dream world that a druid achieves by letting his mind leave his physical body. it's just like real world but everything is tinted green. (hint emerald dream) Also the druid may pass through walls and achieve feats normally impossible in real world. The only downside is people can get lost in the emerald dream, mistaking it for reality and never return to their body. Done!

It has also been recently infected by the Nightmare, infected places being called the Emerald Nightmare. Druids caught in the nightmare are Unwaking and will be unable to wake up until they are willing to do ANYTHING to get back to their origional state. Malfurion has also been sent to combat it. It is unknown whether Malfurion is Unwaking or simply chooses not to leave, but in the upcoming expansion he will be helping fight in Hyjal.

It's also Ysera's Verdant Dream She dreams and made this she allowed her children to roam this land as does she allow Druids to visit and study how Azeroth would look if Man never existed The Nightmare is a Strange "plague" belived to be Related to the old gods doing. Dragon or druids caught in the nightmare do not "never wake" they simply go mad insane and decide to kill Nature instead of preserve it as they normally would.

Idea for the Emerald Dread expantion. (Lore) Yogg`sarron had corrupted the Emerald Dream through the failed world tree in Grizzly Hills. Which is the cause of the danger within the dream and the corruption of the Green Dragonflight. (Idea on how to get there) You would either go through one of the four gates of the dream located in Ashenvale Duskwoods, Feralas, and Hinterlands. Or as the World tree in Mount Hyjal was the original way to the dream it could be an excuse to open Hyjal to the public

Yeah but that doesn't go with the lore. The emerald dream it self is corrupted, it was a base for how the titans would create the perfect world. They finally built the perfect world but had created failed horribly and terrible "Blueprints" for how they would make the world.

I hope for this to be the next expansion "The Emerald Dream", Night elves should get teleports to go there (just like the one they have already to Moonglade), but other races must finish a long quest to gain trust of the night elves or something.
