4: Simplify the tax system; Single tax rate and REALLY short tax code. Even thought the tax code can be simplified and made better, their approach is simplistic and idiotic.
5: audit the agency for constitutionality: similar argument as No. 1

7: Repeal the Health-care bill: While it's not the best, the tea party stance on health care issue is diametrically opposed to the progressive view, and fail to take facts into account with simplistic solution that aren't.
8: Pass an 'All-of-the-Above' Energy Policy: more "drill baby, drill!" without regard to environmental impacts ? seem so.
9: Reduce earmark: good, specially when they have nothing in common with the bill's goal. a "feel good" add-on ? will see
10: reduce taxes : (and extend bush's tax cut) Damn it, the tax are at their lowest ! (in the 50s the marginal taxe were 80-92% ! and the economy was doing fine) "Trickle down economics" DOES NOT WORK, you have the 8 years of bush term as facts !

I've never heard a Tea partier advocate reducing military spending, which is the vast majority of government spending.

Starting from the Greeks all the way to the Romans, the best days of both civilizations were during the time they had Democracy, or some form of it (It is why Athens was the centre of culture in Greece). In 1977 I was hooked on Ayn Rand. Bought all the books, read them. Took that stuff to my class with a marxist professor. Man the debates were great. I figured we hit a stalemate. Both agreeing the American Empire was going to crash like Rome.
33 years later. I still have the books. But the marxist was more right in the assessment of our society and consequences. So now I'm a libertarian socialist, somewhere in between. Reality has not stuck them yet.

5: audit the agency for constitutionality: similar argument as No. 1
6: Limit annual growth in federal spending: Still, the devil in the detail.

Ron Paul 2012 the Tea Party doesn't have a "leader" but it consists of leaders. Patriots who honor and uphold the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Right now both mainline parties have shown themselves unworthy of governance by their frivolous spending and empire building and private sector takeover and breaches of privacy and liberty.
Homework assignment for everyone, read your Constitution. Realize that it was a gift from our founders for you to protect your liberty and posterity

@awire007 don't know if you realize this but none of the tea party candidates are advocating more gov't and less privatization. exactly the oposite. they want to do away with or privatize almost all gov't functions. none of them have advocated an end to imperialism or a realignment of our foreign policy. none of them. most are calling for attack iran and killing more of those a-rabs before they kills us!

@MrCrowley1018 - their platform? As I see it : no new taxes, less government, no health care for all, no free colleges and no pardon for immigrants. In essence their platform is that of the GOP. The counterpoint is: real democracy ie our constitution demands radical inclusion and it means making policy with people we don't like, it means you can't keep fags out of the military or muslims out of NYC or make laws that only benefit rich people. it's not flashy and doesn't make money for FOX news.

It's a good point but I've also yet to hear from the tea party how they're going to fix anything beyond praying. To borrow an old meme their strategy seems to be 1. Get elected by any pandering necessary. 2. ????? 3. Profit.

@MrCrowley1018 Here goes: Obama lowered 98% of American's taxes with the Stimulus Bill; austerity has *never* resulted in an economic recovery; this is the fastest recovery on record; there never were and never will be "Death Panels"; Obama is not Kenyan, a Muslim, or a Socialist; TARP was Bush's program (but still worked); and btw, "Teabagger" was something they named themselves, we just make fun of it.
