  • Rest in peace, George. Our music and wisdom will be missed by those that really matter.

  • The irony is that Paul didn't allow this song to be put on Let It Be when George and John wanted it to be. All Things Must Pass, the album, was mostly songs that Paul barred George from putting on Let It Be.

  • @drumricky93 Oh please ! That's just a bunch of crap. Paul couldn't tell the other beatles what songs go one what album. Like John would have said, "sorry George Paul says no way on All Things Must Pass. He's the boss". Give me a break. The song is too slow. They all agreed. Paul is showing us how it should be played. Pay attention. Learn something.

  • @jake1052003 True, just as they did to John's Revolution, said it was too slow for a single. So he made it faster.

  • @drumricky93 John didn't like George's stuff not Paul. Learn something.

  • Bela canção....beautiful song....

  • It's funny - I like paul's music but it is "light" whereas Georges music mostly had depth. So hearing Paul sing this doesn't sound right it's just too light for me. George sings it with such depth. IMHO

  • @TMINDUK yeh let it be, yesterday, long winding road .....real light

  • @TMINDUK Depth? whiny slide guitar and awful phil spector wall of sound crap. Paul is showing us 40 yrs later how the song is supposed to sound.

  • @jake1052003 True. Even George thought the album dated itself with the wall of sound.

  • Gracias Paul. (Esto es en memoria de mi amigo George) y en castellano.

    Beatles forever.

  • It would have been nice if the Beatles (John and Paul) would have considered this song for a Beatles song in 1969. Its too bad at the time John and Paul didn't get behind George on this song, it may have been a masterpiece.

  • here in my city he played ''Something'' for George

I wish he had played this song

  • @jpbeatlemanico

I think you forgot to add "as well" at the end of your comment. "I wish he had played this song as well" sounds more reasonable. You cannot refuse or replace "Something" when it is offered but the addition of "All Things Must Pass" makes it more amazing.

  • @rufus566 you are right, it was an amazing version of Something in fact

I wish he had played both of them

He also played Here Today for John, it was fantastic

  • I hope Paul put this masterpiece in his new tour

  • The Beatles members created so many songs that touch your soul and corazon , I wish this new generation listen to them, they will be amazed and they will love to be a better person in many ways.

  • @Tostito12345 im inspiring everyone in my school to listen to the beauty my heros mde. i miss george. RIP Darkhorse

  • Aw i love how he spoke spanish! =) he`s pretty good oh people is you love the beatles and you wish you met them go on quizilla and search "Love Me Do" its a story in your piont of veiw and its really sweet its actually really good! i found it today and it took me about 4 hours to read it all but it was worth it!! its 40 chapters long, but dont let that keep you from reading it!! it`ll make you go aww =) and laugh and then you feel like you really met the beatles =)

  • Love you, Paul. Love and miss you, George. See you in heaven!

  • BELA VERSÃO DA CANÇÃO DE GEORGE! PAUL AOS 65 ANOS AINDA NA ESTRADA HOMENAGEANDO SEU GRANDE AMIGO DE TEMPO DOS BEATLES!!!

  • i wish he did this at the Citi field concert I went to

  • Nice one Paul. I think George would appreciate this.

  • @Jazzawray We have one in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia that is next to 'The Let It Be' Pub and Club.

  • If you like this look up "Paul McCartney-Something" its also a really good tribute to George

  • This may sound horrible, but do you ever look at all the aweful people still kickin it out there and ask yourself:" Why George?" I mean really, of all the people that could exit this planet "Why George??"

  • @themitch1966

    it's not awful, it's great.

Paul knows how to pay tribute to his old friends, his lennon tribute medley was awesome, his something brought tears to my eyes both times i saw him play it in 2009 live, and his a day in the life is great too.

  • @OropherThranduil I love the tributes, but what I mean is: All the bad, sorry, sucky people that COULD have died but didn't.Why George? One of the kindest, most gentle souls out there. You know, God COULDA took that Spencer Pratt guy whilst he was a mere child and spared us a good deal of magazine coverage!!

  • @themitch1966

    to quiote John:

God is a concept, By which we can measure, Our pain.

  • @OropherThranduil I don't think you're getting what I am trying to say. . .

  • @themitch1966

    sure i did.

but there was just no other beatles quote coming to my mind right then....

  • @themitch1966 He could take YOU too. People die and its part of life.

  • @bgumbyguitar I probably deserve it more than George.

  • @themitch1966 I don't know you but I think we all equally deserve the same. I hope you feel better man.

  • @themitch1966 Smoking most likely.

  • i will always remember george's spirit and peace.....

  • look whos crying now.paul is dead and george is alive. great one paul.

  • Only Paul could do such a cover!

  • SUPER

  • 'we miss you george' . that got me crying.

  • What a classy thing to do for Brother George. Paul really loved him. God bless. Thank you Beatles.

  • Paul and George ar my favorites beatles , and this is beautiful !

  • Paul is really a nice guy. Beatiful version!

  • The Beatles is to music like Pelé is to soccer... Simply the best... We, brazilians, love the Beatles...

  • @ivon353 Eeeee aguante maradona gato que te pasaa (just kidding :) jajaj)

  • This is a GREAT version of this song...

  • Paul can do it all

  • i agree with wjbn5 and GolaTom that Ed is a dickhead ! Ed please leave ! (your also outnumbered, too)

  • great tribute to a great individual

  • la cancion lo dice.. al things must pass

  • that Ed guy is a dickhead

  • :D Sorry I don´t know why Paul sings George´s song when he stopped being his friend after Hey Jude first came into Abbey Road studios ... Prooved yesterday. :D

  • @GolaTom You are an idiot. Paul and George were always close.Paul always wrote songs about George for George, in the spirit, Ballroom Dancing, Friends To Go.He played Something to him on ukulele. You fucking idiots don't think the Beatles fought in the studio over music, you are nuts. It was just caught on tape. Not even a fight. George was being a jackass trying to act like he was all hurt and stuff because he knew he was on camera. George the quiet Beatle. No, George the sly Beatle. Ed

  • @BonelessSausage I'm afraid that YOU are the idiot. George wasn't acting like a jackass because he knew he was on camera. He was fed up with having the same stupid discussions every day, just like the other three. And by the way, in that moment that you're mentioning, Paul was being a brat by trying to tell him how to play every single second of the song, so George kinda gave up and said that he would play anything he told him to, he even wouldn't play if he asked for it.

  • @ezeqyell You may not be an idiot...but you are delusional. So keep up the rants, you are good at it. No, I won't read your soon to be huffy puffy banal retort. Now move along, you are wasting bandwidth. Ed

  • @BonelessSausage Yeah, right. And you should go and read some books, or wait! I'll make it easier for you, just go and watch The Beatles Anthology, the last chapter. That should keep your mouth shut for a good while. And if you don't want to, then stop wasting your time pretending that you know so much about The Beatles, and keep on listening Falco and the "80's one hit wonders". Gee, why do I even care!!! You just can't take someone that is an 80's fan seriously. Take care my friend!!

  • @ezeqyell and boneless sausage: Enough. You are missing the perspective of this beautiful song.

  • @BonelessSausage I would agree with you about George on camera. But I believe George disliked Paul very much and held a grudge way to long. You can see it in the Anthology all those years later and George is still snippy.

  • @jake1052003 Pretty much my whole point is that George was just snippy. Don't believe they had much hate. Hell, George let Eric Clapton steal his wife. None of the Beatles liked losing. Once George started wrote better songs in mass he just got as cocky as John and Paul.

  • @BonelessSausage Once George started 'writing' better songs in mass, he just got as cocky as John and Paul.

  • The love these 4 guys had for each other is what the world should strive for. 4 men not related by blood who loved each other so much. truly special.

  • I always say to myself, "All things must pass", when I'm having a bad time.

Nothing can truly last forever that's why we have to live our lives here and now.

    RIP George

  • to you 5 people...george would forgive you

  • i've been there!! it's was magical!! ....memories.... i was 13 years!! I Love the Beatles with all my hearth!!!!!

  • Leave it up to Paul to do a brilliant and understated tribute to George with a great song by George.

  • Credit to Paul for staying true to the feel and soul of the song. I was a little afraid he's try to put his stamp on it, he didn't. It's so hard to watch tho, brings back memories of days gone by. This is one great song when you've just been kicked in the gut. I'm now 50 years old, and damnit, I sure miss George.

  • Get the names of the four people that don't like this video and have them arrested.

  • Sad.

  • He doesn't sound bad for a dead guy

  • I love this version of the song almost as much as I love George's original, I think Paul should record this and play it in his shows more

  • Harrisons solo work is so underrated, this is really a great example of that. It's so beautiful.

  • RIP all good musicians like John and George- why must all things pass?

  • He wrote this with the Beatles and it was rehearsed during the 'Let it Be' sess. He had so many songs at that time but J and P allowed only a few on 'Let it Be' or 'Abbey Road' .It's on the last Anth. CD as a Beatles song.Ironic that Paul sang it on 'Concert for George' and in his own concerts as a tribute. I read that one of the players who played in ;CFG' saw Paul practice this song alone on pianoin preparation for playing it at 'CFG'. he said he shed tearswatching Paul re-learn this one

  • nice slide guitar! Awesome!

  • One of the cutest things about this is thinking of Paul learning and memorizing George's song. So sweet :)

  • incredible

  • that bow in the end - that was for you, george ♥

  • Beautiful version by Paul

  • grazie paul beatles for ever da amilcare gerge nella mia mente per sempre

  • All must pass ~ but it isn't the end of what made that thing what it was - because it was ~ it is :-)

  • why paul or john couldn't have taken time to write songs with george when he was alive....ecspecially paul...they didn't have time enough for him when he was alive..now the tribute is the crumb they throw to him...bogus

  • @buzzbeerguy Have you ever stopped and considered, that maybe George wanted to write by himself and not with Paul or John.

  • @Verdoux007 from what i know from all the reading about the songwriting situation, Paul & John started as soon as they met & it clicked & they just wanted to leave it that way, I don't think it was a personal assault on George or that George did not want to participate, but by the time i think Paul suggested something like that to George, it was too late, George was having some of his best successes like his work on Abbey Road, it was too late...

  • @Verdoux007 George mentioned that writing alone made it harder for him, and he always appreciated John and Paul's help (at least in the earlier days). I think he came to resent it when it became to controlling. Rumor has it that around 1966-67, John and Paul were considering writing with George, but it never panned out.

  • I'd love to hear Paul play this next time he tours; or "Here Comes the Sun".

  • Tu amigo al que le hiciste la vida imposible, escuchen la letra de Wah Wah ahi esta todo.

  • @sas147741 no sabes lo que dices pende..

  • It's a shame that George didn't think much of Paul in his later years. Just because Paul's songwriting technique was... controlling. Not to say either was in the right. Just a pity that they couldn't have stayed friends. As is the case with him and John, though they did resolve -some- problems.

  • Paul chokes up at 1:11.

    Lotta love there.

  • The press just reported on the animosity immediately after the Beatles broke up, so it was easy to forget these guys were four friends who loved one-another before and after the Beatles.

  • yeah, there was a concert dedicated to rememebering George in 2001. called "the COncert For George" all money wnet to the charity george set up called the Material World Charitable Foundation--George was so kind and religious and charitable. John refused to play in a chairty concert for Bagladesh, but George wrtoe a song called "Bangladesh' just for it, and paul and ringo plyed in the COncert For Bagledash too. See the DVDs!!

  • paul didnt but ringo did fyi

  • Paul wasn't at the 71 concert. Ringo, Clapton, Billy Preston, Dylan-but not Paul.

  • Now, sir Paul is playing Georges covers. It's a pity, that in 68-70 he was not so keen in those songs :/

  • Whoa! I never knew that Paul played this! I don't really like how he played it fast, but I guess he needs to change it up a little. Besides, he's Paul McCartney!

  • This makes me cry everytime, you can tell they loved eachother so much.

It's so strange hearing Paul sing it though, haha.

  • Que padre!

  • en español, paul es argentino

  • shivers :)

  • my sweet george!

  • His version of this in a concert for George is just mind blowing and also something in same concert.

  • it's called "theConcert For George 2001' paul, ringo and george's son dhani and Beatles' piano player Billy Preston and other famous guys played in it. it's available on DVD. also see THe COnert For Bagladesh- paul, george, and ringo played in it and george's song 'bangladesh' is so pretty and so true.

  • @4FabBEATLES McCartney didn't play in The Concert for Bangladesh. George asked, but he said 'No'. John was going to play, but when he said Yoko could not join them on stage, it fell apart.

  • Seekand, watch the vid interview with Paul right after George passed and you'll see how he felt. George was like his younger brother. I'm sure thats how he must have felt when he first met George.

  • @yugitso ----i think you are correct, they were at one time best friends, even though after the breakup the friendship was strained

  • Hey yugitso,You know that paul brought george into the band. John thought he was too young but soon changed his mind after he heard him play.George was a very disciplined musician. Besides that they were able to reherse at his house at that time without being hassled. PEACE!

  • i didnt even know till today that the group almost did this tune

  • It will never be this great again.

  • i bet underneath the armor paul really misses both his bandmates as much as we do

  • i can only hope he does-- it's sure nice to think he does... He MUST! Don't we?

  • yes we do----most of us anyway.....

  • @scrubdacocci gahh. the things i wouldnt give to have been alive when the beatles were together. tho im about the only 19 year old i know that is an insane beatles fan. haha. my generation must be tone deaf.

  • s2thalayer, friend, i WAS alive (about your age in fact) when they were together, and all it's done for me is make me old! JK. But the music will never get old. As far as your being the only young fan of the music, no, I teach HS and know a lot of Beatles lovers. Thx for the reply. Happy 2010!

  • Boy, do we :(

  • @jesusluvr07----- yes we do-----

  • Pretty cool and more poignant now than when it was written.

  • i like georges version better... george was meant to sing this... not paul

  • Me too, but Paul was doing a tribute to his friend George

  • Don't be rude, this is a beautiful tribute to his friend.

  • i know. im not trying to be rude. paul did great but its georges song he was meant to sing it

  • Well clearly.

  • Nice, very nice.

    Paul does it justice.

  • Comment removed

  • ??? why did you say that

  • I've been in at least 10 bands...you're always friends and brothers with those you share the glory of creation with. Despite all the bullshit arguments and power struggles, you manage to stay buds...

  • I played in bands for 40+ years. You don't bond with everyone you play with, because truth be told, there are as many assholes playing music as doing anything else. If you have an underlying connection with someone playing music together can create a union unlike any other. But it just doesn't happen with everybody.

  • yeah right

  • das video ist ganz lustig

  • I'm crying. I mean, I LOVE George and I found this song and ... Paul and agh. It's just too much.

I love them, not only George and Paul but also Ringo and John. They are practically my life, whitout them I wouldnt be the same person that I'm right now.

Just awesome, and lovely, and perfect.

  • exactly the same case with me... love the beatles... they are also my life...

  • @unsueniostereo I can't imagine John, Paul, George, and Ringo not a part of my life. Thank God I found there music.

  • @unsueniostereo Beautiful!

  • Ese George era pura poesía. Pienso que sus letras se ajustan más a la sintaxis latina que los otros Beatles. +10

    "Within you, without you"...

  • Covering the song of someone else is a tribute to the fact that they think this song is superior to whatever they may be doing themselves at the moment. Therefore it is more than appropriate. This was just a "hats off" to a fallen comrade.

  • My favorite.

  • fantastica tributo

  • I think this is very appropriate: Paul is the last one standing and lost Stuart, John, Linda and George along the way (Ringo excluded). 'All things must pass' in that sense is very Paul, at this moment.

  • such paul for george

  • Is that really respectfull Paul? such a beautiful song!

  • yo estuve allí, me emocioné tanto con ésta canción... increíble.

  • No matter what their differences, they clearly still loved one another very much. God bless you George - We'll always miss you!

  • This was almost a Beatles song.

  • It was penned at about the same time as Let it be and Abbey Road. If the band was together for another album it would be made the cut :)

  • Beautiful!

  • ME ENCANTA LA VOZ DE PAUL AQUI

  • Yo también estuve allí en directo.

    ¡Qué grandes Paul y George!

  • Everything about this man is beautiful. His music the way he plays it his beautiful voice. I love you Paul.

The video is very touching, thank you : )

  • wonderful

  • thanks for posting this video whoever you are

    muchas gracias por Londres

  • yo estaba allí! y en esta canción rompí a llorar y no paré en todo el concierto :(

  • A beautiful and poignant tribute to the Quiet Beatle. George was the deepest and most thought-provoking lyricist of the Fabs, in my opinion.

  • i agree with that. george was a beautiful man, and his album after the beatles, this one, is simply beautiful. but with mccartney and lennon and harrison all together in one band....mamma mia...a one-off...will never happen again like that...

  • well said mgerakos

  • Love it that Macca said, "Pour amigo, George" Amazing!!!

  • My dear, im affraid he is no said: "pour amigo, George", not, hes is speaking en spanish, actually, he said: " para mi amigo geroge". Am i clear ?

  • todas las cosas tienen que pasar!!!!

    GEORGE FOREVER!!!!

  • Beautiful tribute, very suiting song to pick.

  • Paulie, everything you do is magical. I hope to see you in concert once in my lifetime. What a dream.

    Love you

  • Oh nice of Paul. No matter how much these 4 guys fought they still loved each other. Just like Brothers - Just like family.

  • three geniuses in the same band, wtf...
