my family used to own these magnificent dogs, they were obedient, I will a german shepherd in the future but there will be no spaying/neutering for them
@lok4sh She is only about 6 months old but pulls like crazy and jumps around and is hard work. Very strong and disobedient. (I guess through youth) I remember the principals of dog training from when I had a boxer dog, but this one doesn't listen and is too damn strong to 'heel'. I guess I'll just have to persevere. Check out my one video to see the dog I have at a very early age. She was massive even then :P
How it all got started was that the German Shepard was originally called the German Shepard, but a couple of world wars later it was the least fashionable thing in the world to be German, so they changed it to Alsatian. Now it's kinda going back to how it was before...
@MICKEYISLOWD They're from the region of Alsace (hence the name), which from 1870 to 1918, was ruled by the german empire. The German Sheppherd was established in 1899, making them historically German.
@deeveyboy .. There is no difference between an Alstian and German Shepard, its the exact same dog with two different names... its like saying humans and people but all meaning the same thing ;) I used to argue they were different breeds, until i researched history and found i was wrong lol

Alsatian is not the real name of this breed. This is a German Shepherd.
