@ locouk when light rays strike the vanes the black sides absorb the rays far better than white sides which reflect the rays.
This causes the black sides of the vanes heat up and as the air around them warm the molecules of air exert pressure on the dark side. The partial vacuum inside the glass bulb the vanes rotate when exposed too light. The brighter the faster.
@Hvdragonproduction I found I can get it spinning in total darkness using an IR LED on my camcorder.
Oh well, as they say.. Little things please little minds! Lmfao
Did you return the HID torch? Mine goes from time to time, but if I turn it on then put the battery in and leave it on for 5 mins.. its ok till the battery runs out.

@locouk I exchanged the hid bulb and the battery so now it works perfectly:)
