Anyway, that particular WRX is rated at 20-27 MPG Highway while the 6.0 GTO is rated at 18-26. There isn't much of a difference there even if the displacement is much higher. If it is gas guzzling POS's you are looking for, turn to a Hemi Pickup. Those truly are horrendous gas guzzlers.
I doubt this is stage 2. watch the video where edmunds or some sort of car magazines tests these two against each other and the quarter mile times are nearly Identical. obviously a roll isnt the same but I still find it hard to believe a stage 2 sti could hardly pull away from that gto
@p98CEM3278uv9 there is a price of driving a car hard. Dont do it if you cant afford the outcome. No car out there can handle being beatin daily and eventually never break. My wrx defiantly has done some time in a shop getting fixed or re tuned. but its all worth it to me in the end, and thats what it is about.
Drove and abused an STi for over 6 years. Motor was never broken in properly and the car was redlined off the lot. Car was put under extreme abuse and stress at the track on a regular basis. The car was launched hard (5.5k) and I never once had a problem with the car. The car ran for 95k miles and it'll run another 95k miles in the hands of an owner who takes great care of her.
@jakubgt1 sweet man sounds like you got a good one. My wrx and your sti are not even close to being the same though. The STI is way more capable of handling the abuse. my wrx could take a stock sti in a straight, but with the power its putting down, stock parts break, so i havent had the luck of nothing breaking.
Currently have a new WRX putting down 305awhp/317wtq that undergoes some abuse. No problems with trans/motor and I don't plan on having mechanical failures with stock powertrain.
@jakubgt1 sweet keep it that way, mine is an 05. so things like struts, clutch. flywheel, have been replaced, and some other minor things, My engine is fine so far.

@getalife04 Well I was actually at a lot looking for either an EVO or WRX, I test drove an 05 WRX with some light work done. The guy than pointed me toward an o4' GTO quicksilver 6 speed, told me the price, which was reasonable, and asked me if I wanted to drive. Sure enough after driving the GTO the test drive of the Subie was a faded memory..lol It just pulled a lot harder than the Subie..Shortly after I added SLP LT's, CAI, and Catback with HI FLOW cats, and the car sounds beastly..
@Ensilvanation Yeah it's the TQ that you like about that LS1/LS2. Those motors are absolutely badass with just intake head work and a tune with some exhaust. Not to mention if you get some N20 going or boost. I have built up several of them and nothing runs like they do when done right.

Anyway, that particular WRX is rated at 20-27 MPG Highway while the 6.0 GTO is rated at 18-26. There isn't much of a difference there even if the displacement is much higher. If it is gas guzzling POS's you are looking for, turn to a Hemi Pickup. Those truly are horrendous gas guzzlers.

Drove and abused an STi for over 6 years. Motor was never broken in properly and the car was redlined off the lot. Car was put under extreme abuse and stress at the track on a regular basis. The car was launched hard (5.5k) and I never once had a problem with the car. The car ran for 95k miles and it'll run another 95k miles in the hands of an owner who takes great care of her.

The STI is way more capable of handling the abuse. my wrx could take a stock sti in a straight, but with the power its putting down, stock parts break, so i havent had the luck of nothing breaking.

Ok welcoming to MMA 101..cauliflower ears found mostly on "wrestlers" is caused by a lot of friction and rubbing on the ears, because wrestling is extensive head control, and headlocks. I studied jiu-jitsu, which is more defensive posture on your back and joint locks, guard and body control. Royce Gracie has very very slight cauli ears cause he is jiu jitsu. @Rockit181 The description states that the GTO had 2 passengers and a full tank of gas... few hundred extra lbs. makes a huge difference in performance. Stock 05-06 GTO is capable of running 12 second 1/4 miles. What does a stock STI run? 13 seconds?

Guess what happens when you put an STS turbo with meth injection on a GOAT? A stock WRX doesn't beat a GTO, a stage 2 doesn't beat a GTO, a stage 3 keeps up with a GTO till about 120, after that maybe you should just consider buying something thats fast outta the factory..Like a good ol' v8!

@getalife04 Well I was actually at a lot looking for either an EVO or WRX, I test drove an 05 WRX with some light work done. The guy than pointed me toward an o4' GTO quicksilver 6 speed, told me the price, which was reasonable, and asked me if I wanted to drive. Sure enough after driving the GTO the test drive of the Subie was a faded memory..lol It just pulled a lot harder than the Subie..Shortly after I added SLP LT's, CAI, and Catback with HI FLOW cats, and the car sounds beastly..

@Ensilvanation Yeah it's the TQ that you like about that LS1/LS2. Those motors are absolutely badass with just intake head work and a tune with some exhaust. Not to mention if you get some N20 going or boost. I have built up several of them and nothing runs like they do when done right.
