Just watched your videos.. great sets I learned a little about snares can't wait to try..I've been out of trapping for a long time but recently decided to get back into it. Your videos kinda had alot to do with...hahahaha... Anyway love the videos keep on trapping..
Dude, I've got to give it to you...awesome video. I stumbled across one of your videos and I have almost watched them all now. Cool shit. I just sent my first to box traps a few days ago.
heck i love wolves in my area there my main money maker at 550-600$ each for a big wolf i hate it when 1 gets fucked up. wolves are what got me into full time trapping i make a damn good dollor every year off them wolf, wolverine and lynx are the money makers while beaver and other stuff is the gravy extra change
them wolves up there must be some fuckin' hungry to cannablize one of their own...maybe you can use that to your advantage..great vid's man!!! stay warm..
muskrat411 gave you good advice, its a plastic gear thats actually inside the oil pump...if your already mixing your fuel thats good...we burned a couple of those tundras up because of that plastic gear breaking and after that we stripped all that stuff off, plugged the lines and mixed the gas...thats the only problem I have seen with them, there a solid utility sled..
wolves are definetly the most annoying animals, Do you use footholds at all for wolves? i found i have had better success with footholds for wolves than snares, I've managed to take 2 out of a pack so far in the last 3 days with footholds but none in snares, the other bonus of footholds is u never have eaten wolves
@TrapCanada94 yeah i get em in leghold as well snares are cheap and easy and once you figure em out its a piece of piss i know some good trappers that snare a lot of em
Forgot to add the only problem we had with those tundras were the way the oil was injected, theres a plastic gear that has broke on a few of them causing them to run lean and burn up, so we always stipped that off and mixed the gas in them after that...might be something to think about..
@idoutdoors are you talking about that stupid oil filter i also have been mixing gas for it the oil injection is all fucked up i dont know why they put a filtre on it
@TheWildNorth idoutdoors is correct cut your oil line off and plug both ends then use mixed gas. Your Tundra will run a lot longer. That plastic gear is garbage. Bombardier does so much stuff good why they would do something cheep like that is beyond me. Keep the oil tank full you never know when cousin is going to forget to oil up. Is E-Bun going to be posting video of his caribou hunt on MrActicBlood I look forward to watching some caribou hunting not done by sport hunters.
@TheWildNorth Ok sorry about that, still some caribou hunting videos would be excellent. I got a smart tv at christmas and I watched some of your videos in HD. I was ammazed at the difference. I want a HD camera now. Glad to see you are posting some vids. I might start trapping again in the next few days I was busy cutting wood all week I got a good size pile now so maybe I just got to go once more and I'll be OK for a month or so.
We had 6 of those tundras we used guiding cougar hunts, there solid machines, you should like yours and get along with it great pulling a cargo sled like you do...
This message is for anyone who might do trapping as a job : If you would like some help tell me, I would leave my city job anytime to do this job. Even if there is no pay and it is only about eating the prey and surviving, I think life would make much more sens then living this over-superficial life I live right now.
I live in north east of Canada, and even if there might still be some lynx, they are more of a legend to me. Never saw one, never heard anyone who saw one.
entertaining and educational as always man. I just found out I AM allowed to trap in Minnesota. But now I found out I'm going down to Houston, Texas for Jan and Feb. Can't ever win I guess. Good luck out there.
Told YA didnt I brother, them snares wouldnt Fail ya on them Lynxs,Hope ya get alot more this season I know you will, suxs on the wolf though,,good luck on the season, Keep um Coming Brother!
I love those old Tundras I have one sitting outside my house waitting for me to find a new engine for it. I bought my first Tundra in 1997 it broke down so I sold it and baught another. That one blew up so I baught an engine from Selections catalauge then I went through two frames and ended up buying the frame of the Tundra I baught in 1997. That ran for a while but the crank shaft eventually went. Now it sits.
Thanks for the update Andrew i have been waiting for every day since your last one, I have a confession to make I AM AN ADDICT! I had a big lynx walk through my first ever cubby and he forgot to put his head in the snare, gonna try some other sets like you skidoo trail one thanks for that! I am only allowed 6 lynx on my line do you have quotas there on your furbearers?
What size cable do you use for your snares? How often do you have fur damage from snaring? The reason I ask is because i don't see any swivels on your snares.
I 'd like to find an old cabin somewhere that I could take over and fix up. I love being away from all the crazt people around here. Always in a rush to go nowere
just got in from the coyote line here in sw saskatchewan. I sure do enjoy your videos. I just started using my skidoo cheyenne as the back roads are blowing in. congrats on the new snowmachine. I have heard nothing but good things about the tundra. good luck catching the wolves. I dealt with wolves up in the peace river district and they can be real pricks!!
My Brother! You almost have the only vids that are as long as yours that I watch to the end! I love this shit! May I suggest growning a beard my Kanoke friend! Damn son! put some hair on that baby face! LMAO!!! Hey, hw can you tell the difference between a mink and weasel? I really don't know.P.S... my son shot our boat up out of frustration! Hope you snow sled behaves a bit better! ROLMFAO!!! Be Well my Brother!
@stayingawake20 ha ha swede man a the weasels are white with a black tip on there tail in the summer they are brown they change with the seasons the mink are 3 times the size of a weasel thay are amphibious they live on land and in water there is a big diffrence in the two maybe in my next video i will compare a weasel a martin and a mink that might help you out a bit! assuming i catch one of each ha ha
Bummer on the snow machine I am sure that new/used one cost ya a few wolf pelts. Beaver are getting good and prime here but at 10 below this morning I will wait until next month. The PETA pricks banned all out trapping here back in the 90's by showing a dog from NJ that lost 2 legs in traps, that was probably out chasing deer. We need permission now on each place from the government. ! @#$%^&^%#$^& We call the coyotes in and shoot them bad mange here the past few years because the trapping ban
Post more videos! Do you go home to Hay River to upload? I looked at your area in Google Earth, do you have the GPS coordinates so I can zoom in on your cabin?
As always off to a good start andrew! Really like the looks of your new snowmachine! Looks like a beast. Sucks about the wolf! Cant wait to see the next one you get. I think your going to get a wolverine soon! Just a good guess lol! Good luck man. I will be waiting for the next footage! Dont keep us waiting too long! PEACE ANDREW!
great job andrew keep em comin.load up the area for wolves and you will double or tripple up.. they will stay around a long time with another one snared .. with them around like that it will hurt your lynx catches.they will run em off ..nice new sled
im always looking forward to your videos andrew.. looks dam cold!! but sure enough would love to do it one winter... except the sled breaking down 15 miles from the cabin... not cool! keep it up... love it!
"It's December 5 or something, Sunday or Monday anyway" I know trapping is one of the hardest jobs to make a living.
