Was brought up at Lochailort, went to school every day on the steam train. Its great to see the steam trains back on the line again. Great video and stunning scenery.

What a stunning Video, as one of the support crew for 45231, I view many videos featuring our Loco,particulary on the jacobite which is a favourite, this has to be one of the best. Very well done, great viewing.

Thanks very much, you'll have a great time I'm sure. The engines are changed on the Sunday, I would have liked the K1 during the time I was there but only got the one shot on the Sunday I came home.

That video was absolutely magnificent - it started with a wonderful sequence on the outskirts of Mallaig and only got better. The sequence at Loch Eilt was simply breathtaking. Awsome content and even better photography - 5* but it deserves more!

Fantastic. What format do you shoot in? I shot the same train as you on a Canon HDV camcorder but when uploaded to youtube it

Wow, That pan at Ranochan was well over 3 minutes and looked to be a full 180 degrees. Can there be a better place for that sort of steam shot anywhere else in the UK ? Brilliant

Thanks, I think the shot works quite well which is strange when you can only see the loco for seconds really, but the sound was so good I had to include the full sequence.

And that shot at Ranochan :O Woww! I wish i'd got the full angle now, it's fantastic! Was it taken from a lay by? We pulled up in the wrong one and by the time we'd realised the train was coming...

Cheers Si, I wonder why some clips are familiar to you, I must have had some good advice from someone!! There was a spot to park for the Ranochan shot but not a proper lay by if I remember rightly. I ventured up the hillside and the view just opened up. I'm plotting going up in September for the three day bash.

Excellent videos, as always. Looks like they've improved the road to Mallaig since I went in 1992.

One small suggestion for future videos, if you have the possibility; use a shadow on your caption text to help it stand out and make it easier to read. :-)
