Magnificent editing to Shostakovich's Second Waltz - whoever put this together should get some kind of credit here. What is their name?? Wonderful cuts of movement to movement, camera moves to items moving within the shot, pan to pan.... it's literally a textbook on expert cutting. I cannot praise this enough - this is a total pleasure. AND the visual effects by MILL 3D are stunning and haven't dated at all! Beautiful work, you people!
@andorhalier Commercial for what? This is not a commercial at all. It is a videoart.- A videocollage with a very suggestive music. Very temptation and nice piece of Dmitri S. One of his best!
This is the track that was used in the movie "Eyes WIde Shut". It's a recording from 1993 by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, with Riccardo Chailly conducting.
thise maistro and genius will untill the finale contdown bee a lovely human reflektion off what we could bee, been ore are if we can see a human in our easy. What human? Sokrate's line filosofy? The National socialistik klassified human ? It dosenth mather if we like ore disspiace them, we canth kill thise idea's with bullit's. Only maybee with Sokrates revision Defence=most difficoult Edukation=most important Human=the goal to see in our next human to bee it our self +I/A=tool's
The piece really does radiate some kind of irony, it's almost as if Shostakovich is trying to say "why worry, everything is alright" with a smirk in his face.
The only two other pieces that give me this feeling are the second movement of Gershwins Piano Concerto and Joplins Magnetic Rag. It's almost as if they are telling you that everything is perfectly fine while you get the impression that it isn't.
@playingmusiconmars everyone has they're own opinions so dont tell someone it doesnt make that person feel this way. yo have your feeling and we have ours so stfu
Well, because everybody is entitled to their opinion, everybody is able to express it. I did so.
And what are you talking about? I never evaluated the emotional quality of this piece, I just compared it with two other pieces that share the same mood. I see no problem with that, so just relax and enjoy the music.
This video has been put together by someone who knew what this music is about. It enhances the experience... by adding visual stimulation of the same "frequency" as the song.
if this is the soundtrack of the apocalypse, then the end is near i hope... better the right 3:16 min to live than a full lifetime with all that crappy hiphop-charts-lady gaga-shit...
For a lark, I got a pair of super-hyperactive toddlers to watch this video. Obviously the classical music industry people have something to learn here.
I was talking about those who get bored by classic music. Sometimes by giving them a nice "picture", they might be able to sit down and listen to it and then they realise what they are "missing". I am one of those who can't live without this kind of music. This i why i play the violin..

oh, suite waltz, no.2, I love this, the composer is excellent, he was a comtemporary composer, he died in 1975, he was a genius! I love his style of music, I chose one of his fugue to play in the grade 8 exam and I made it!
It is a montage of commercials produced by The Mill. Not surprisingly, most of Shostakovich's Jazz suit pieces seems to fit for those contemporary visuals. And I've read that a French thinks of Shostakovich as the second, or even third pressing of Mahler. Oh well ... everyone is entitled to have their own opinions.
A waltz like this naturally works with the cyclic 360 pan for example around the skyscrapers and the race car engine which instills a sense of the profound.

It is a montage of commercials produced by The Mill. Not surprisingly, most of Shostakovich's Jazz suit pieces seems to fit for those contemporary visuals. I don't know about the French...
I think you need to be cold, perhaps a bit hungry...
I think you need to leave materialism behind to listen to this song.
Yes it pans well, but it was written by a Soviet man ( trouble, subversive yes man I don't judge ) and its not about race cars and skyscrapers.

Shostakovich wasn't a soviet man. He was forced to join the communist party in 1960 which reduced him to tears. I've been thinking about your reply for 2 weeks now.....
I guess that its all in the ear. I live in a cold snowy place, this plays well on a night like this to me.
And there were more, two opera were banned.
