Thanks a bunch guys what a great video that was wish u wud make more of diff patterns, wish everyone new how to use a camera, great job, again thank u very much....
Please tell, what gauge wire and ring ID for this? I use 14 ga. 3/4" ID, and i cant seem to make a stable bit of e4n1.....it falls into some sort of 4N1 string.... Like a =|=|=|=|=|=| sort of deal
Well, I think that's right... but I don't exactly know, I try this with 0,6 mm wire / 3 mm ID and it's kind of hard. But if you add another line to get a sheet it should look right...
Unfortunately we have not yet made the 6 in 1 video, nor have we made a video on extensions and contractions (which are necessary in making a shirt). This video was intended more so than anything to teach the basic steps, hopefully its helpful ;)
Were those copper links? Im just asking becasue if you wanted to make some chainmail for fighting and potentialy heavy impact you'd want to use galvanized steel or something. But copper is still good for costume parties and stuff. Awesome vid! Very informative!
yes, the copper coloured ones are indeed copper, we used them for the sake of teaching. However, you are absolutely right about (using for example 16 1/4") galvanized steel for armour purposes.
AWESOME VIDEO! I tried a chain mail vest and it's heavy as fuck! And taking it off is fucking hard as well. Be sure to have a friend to help you take it off!
I like how your listening to Flogging Molly in the background of this video.

1-what gauge of strings do you use,
2-what diameter of the inside of ring do you use.
3-Is stainless steel better then galvanized steel.
