Jason always respected the love that Robin and Stone shared. He never tried to change her or to try and Measure up to Stone. He just accepted it and allowed her to be who she was. Patrick on the other hand hasn't learned to accept Robins past with Stone or jason and even Sonny. I believe you have to respect and accept a person's past life in order to be truly happy with that person if you can't then your going no where.

You got to respect what came before, that's another reason why J&R were soo easy to fall in love with after the amazing R&S love story.
