The number of cylinders means absolutely nothing if you have a very well constructed engine. If he used a very high strength aluminum and does not push the engine up to 7k rpm he will be fine. Its not like he took the engine out of an impala and just increased the size of the cylinders.

problem is that you have to rev the nust off of them to get any sort of torque, which makes them more difficult to drive quickly. you have to keep changing gears to stay in the power band. With a big pushrod engine, such as this V8, you get a lot of torque from the off, with quite a broad power band, which makes them more user friendly. Oh and theyre more reliable (if less economic).

ummmm, actually the 9 liter bow tie motor weighs more than just about every v-12 on the market. More cylinders does not equal more power however it makes for a smoother rev, and a nicer ride. If it had more cylinders but smaller volume cylinders equaling the total displacement of the the v-8 it would have better fuel mileage. Also, there aren't as many after market parts to improve on stock for v-12s. Anyway, I hope that helps :)

well technically, this car isnt a the fastest street legal car. because that thing wouldnt be able to hit a 200+ top speed. meaning it might be the quickest car in the 1/4 etc. but when it gets down to FASTEST. a lot of exotics would beat it. even tho it has 2000hp. i dont think he's ever been past 170mph with the aerodynamics of that car. he'd flip or spin out. either that or the car would fall apart.
