@TheSmokingTire Back in the 90s my parents had a few Cadillacs, and the build quality was excellent. The design... yes, you're right. The 1994-97 STS, however, was a handsome car. As was the 2000+ DTS. The new CTS-V can't say it's the fastest sedan anymore, sadly-- BMW's new M5 (out next year) is a bit faster. GM is going to have to go to work again before Zee Germans beat them to the punch.

@TheSmokingTire Yeah, FWD is wrong wheel drive... no matter how many cylindres there are in the engine. There is still a lot of "parts-bin" evidence in Cadillac, but I believe that it is now the product of a bin which contains nicer parts. And thanks for replying, and posting.

I have a 1964 Chevelle Malibu wagon, and i must say that is one sweet looking car, and it performs very well too with a 327 and a 4 speed muncie, but it is nowhere near as amazing as this. He's right on the fact that wagons died a long time ago, and its awesome to see a new spin on them .

Turbo charged cars ans superchargers allways seem to have the advantage even if its the same horspower... @GunGuru727 I have several pairs. The Piloti Prototipos are kind of the all-the-time standard. I also have some Shelby Branded shoes that Tom and I got to match our car for Bullrun last year. Plus, they are velcro which is awesome. For actual racing I have some DC Pro Spec v1.0 that are second to none.

What do you think we can expect from the next Vette and what improvements would you most like to see made? (other than interior quality which is one I think they confirmed they would address)....
@Greendude33 I think you can easily predict what the next Corvette will be: a V8 up front, manual transmission in the middle, and the drive wheels out back. Hopefully they will improve on the horrid automatic transmission, and update the interior significantly. Other than that, I'd bet there won't be any surprises.
@TheSmokingTire You got you wish, GM said they want a $100,000 car interior feel in the base corvette. Expect to see varying engine options in the C7, if not then the C8 for sure will have TTurbo six cylinder options.

Don't get me wrong I love American cars, but they also have their flaws. If you have the opportunity try driving the Audi RS6 Avant, you'll be amazed what we here in europe can do with a "wagon". It might even be a little bi faster compared to the CTS-V... ;)

i can't express how impressed i am with the american car industry in the last like half decade; ford, chevy, cadillac, buick for christ's sake, all now make cars that are so far improved and refined compared to the junk they made just at the turn of the century. Now i can actually look at practically every american company and see cars that i would honestly like to own.
I love wagons. I drive a VW W8 wagon. Its quick but like Matt, i would give almost anything to have the CTS-V wagon. I'll bet it even gets equal or better gas mileage than my W8.

For the first time in a long while, american cars are really starting to attract me. They have finally started taking tips from foreign automakers and are stepping up the quality. CTS-V, Vette, Camaro or BuicK Regal (Opel insignia) I would spend my money on those cars
I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing that this vehicle "pulls more lateral g's than a 911 GT3". The 911 GT3 weighs 1000 lbs less, has wider, softer tires, a MUCH lower center of gravity, and actually makes a bit of downforce.
@jonen9494 I don't know why everyone assumes that because I'm an American, I'm partial to American cars. I like good cars, regardless of which country they are from and what badges they wear. The Corvette and the CTS-V happen to be two very good American cars (and there are plenty of bad ones too), just like there are good and bad cars from Germany. I've spent lots of time in the E60 M5, and I can definitively say the CTS-V is more fun to drive and a much better value, and it's faster.
@jonen9494 There's nothing wrong with the German cars like the RS6 and M5, in fact they are fantastic. But they are significantly more expensive than the CTS-V, without any real advantage except for some of the secondary materials used.
@TheSmokingTire Good call mate, Ze Germans make perfectly good cars but they have an arrogance about them that pisses me off. In New Zealand a BMW 520 Touring diesel costs $115,000 new. You shouldnt have to pay over 100 grand for a 2 litre diesel ANYTHING.

A Legacy with an STI motor :D Do some engine and suspension mods, but keep the exterior and interior stock and get a quiet aftermarket exhaust (if you can fine one hahaha). Best sleeper wagon ever right there.

@pwsparrow some of the secondary materials on the inside are a little cheap, it's too quiet given the amount of power it produces, and the fuel economy was some of the worst we've observed in any car. We had it for 7 days, and put 9 tanks of fuel in it. On the day that we shot this video, I burned through an entire tank of premium in around 60 miles, which is about 4 mpg.
everyone loves top gear, known fact. but to matt and all the guys working on these vids, I'd honestly rather be watching this content than the stuff on tv.

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing that this vehicle "pulls more lateral g's than a 911 GT3". The 911 GT3 weighs 1000 lbs less, has wider, softer tires, a MUCH lower center of gravity, and actually makes a bit of downforce.

I understand that due to the fact that you are American, you obviously like US cars like the vette.
However, I do not really agree on how "great" they are. Compare a Vette to a German car in the same class, and you got dominance from Ze Germans.

@jonen9494 I don't know why everyone assumes that because I'm an American, I'm partial to American cars. I like good cars, regardless of which country they are from and what badges they wear. The Corvette and the CTS-V happen to be two very good American cars (and there are plenty of bad ones too), just like there are good and bad cars from Germany. I've spent lots of time in the E60 M5, and I can definitively say the CTS-V is more fun to drive and a much better value, and it's faster.

@jonen9494 There's nothing wrong with the German cars like the RS6 and M5, in fact they are fantastic. But they are significantly more expensive than the CTS-V, without any real advantage except for some of the secondary materials used.

Oh also, an idea for someone who wants a fast wagon but can't afford one of these: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT Limited. A Legacy with an STI motor :D Do some engine and suspension mods, but keep the exterior and interior stock and get a quiet aftermarket exhaust (if you can fine one hahaha). Best sleeper wagon ever right there.

@pwsparrow some of the secondary materials on the inside are a little cheap, it's too quiet given the amount of power it produces, and the fuel economy was some of the worst we've observed in any car. We had it for 7 days, and put 9 tanks of fuel in it. On the day that we shot this video, I burned through an entire tank of premium in around 60 miles, which is about 4 mpg.
