A friend of mine (seekinsoul) was riding down SR-28 (The Hellbender) back to the Deals Gap motel last August. He was on a DR-650 (thumper dual sport) and I was on my 599 (much heavier I-4 with more top end power). In the sections that could be called straight, I was able to close the gap with him. But on the corners, he would pull slightly ahead. The punchline is he had knobbies on and I had Pilot Power 2CTs.

He scrubbed off his chicken strips that day and left me respecting that bike.
