  • would this work with CO2?

  • Nice! try the MeshMod. It'll double the bubbles and make them smaller too.

  • I wish local fish stores would sell the "OTP 3000 Needle Wheel Pump"

  • that is awesome! that thing was stripping the tank of things I didn't know existed in the water and producing skimmate, pushing it right to the surface!

  • I bought the same pump, Octopus 3000 Needle Wheel Pump, but it doesn't generate as much bubble as shown in the video. The pump I used generates larger bubbles and less amount of bubble (about 25%) compare the one the video. Thorsky31, please share with us the modification you made to the pump to get that fine bubble result. I test the pump with fresh water. Did you add any type of water treatment to the tank?

  • Joe, that is the stock needle wheel. I've since tripled it's air intake with mesh and better venturi design but in that video it's stock. Are you testing in salt water? Fresh will give you big bubbles and lower SCFH.

  • It's saltwater. That's what makes the bubbles super fine. Won't work in freshwater.

  • jesus is that your skimmer lol.. dam how bigs your tank ??? lol

  • lol...never ended up putting this thing together. I still have 3' of beautiful 8 cast tubing with all the hardware to put it together. Someday I'll make it happen!

  • where can i get a pump like that?

  • is it noisy

  • there used in protein skimmers, protein skimmers use bubbles, those bubbles are like a magnet that attract waste like fish poop etc. The more bubbles and the smaller the bubbles, the more effective the simmer is, this is an effective pump since you can see all those bubbles and those bubbles are very small.

  • I don't get what this is, exactly. Please explain.

  • I's a time machine!
