This might sound weird but the pachyrhinosaurus almost looks like it fits there in the ice age (I guess it's because it reminds me a lot like an elasmotherium, a sort of woolly rhino).
@RokuroCarisu oh i remember i was just pissed because they canceled the show before they could show it off. mangy fuckers should've let it keep going or remarket it for a new generation.
@troodon311 If you believe in that whole millions of millions of years theory. And thats not a Styracosaurus, but it is from the same "type" cant recall of its actual name.
Just noticed that the noise the megatherium makes is taken from Gwangi, an allosaurus in the movie "The Valley of Gwangi." Actually, its taken from a particular scene in which Gwangi fights a styracosaurus. Great dinosaur movie!
I'm not sure why Krulos would even want to go back. Sure he has an empire to rule out there, but if he stayed, the rulons would be an already advanced species on an un-advanced planet, millions of years ahead of humanity.
@DragonConvoy yes, but they didn't have much fat on it to keep warm, also do understand how cold it was back then, a dinosaur couldn't survive for long
Ofcourse if we talk a about a Dinosaur not adapted to Ice Age temperatures, although dinosaurs suited for cold areas have been found. But even then an Animal of that size would not die immedatly, like some of the people here say.
So... The triceratops gets thrown into the Ice Age, huh? For some reason it doesn't just fall asleep and die from being completely unable to regulate its body temperature?
Where have you been the last 40 years of paleontologic research? dinosaurs were perfectly able to regulate body temperature. Even triceratops had his limbs directly under its body and articulations made for prolonged periods of activity impossible without a fast metabolism. The shape of the vertebra indicates the body stayed straight while running unlike lizards or other primitive reptiles and ... ok you got the idea.
Yeah, I canceled my subscription to Paleontology Today shortly after my interest in Dino Riders shifted to a fanatic obsession with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so I'm a bit behind the curve...
zeitverbrecher, you are willing to look past the fact that they time travel using a crystal, and worry about body temperature? lol! BTW that's not a triceratops...pause it at 6:04, it's clearly a funkyopteryx. :)
Wow, the paleontological information is rather ... correct. Except for that sort of carnivore warhog that is actually from the terciary period and not the cuaternary. All of those south american animals like doedicurus and megatherium are quite fine... the smilodon is far to big, but... well
They used a time machine on their ship as they were escaping a pursuing Rulon fleet. I have the original episode here on youtube, if you're interested.
Wow you can spot all the classic 80's voices. Optimus Prime & Megatron from Transformers, Ray from Ghost Busters, Raphael from Ninja Turtles, etc. etc. :P
back in time? didn't he say they went 65 million years into the future? which doesn't even make sense, because that would put them around our timeline, nowhere NEAR the ice age. i know the writers were stretching things by mixing dinos from different eras, but COME ON
Like NettiWelho said the last ice age ended about 10,000 years ago at the end of the Pleistocene. 10k years is .01 million years, so yes, the last ice age was ~65 million years after the end of the Cretaceous.
Not enough females in this show.

65 million years from the Mezosiac era is NOW. Not the Ice Age. Also, the Styracosaurus would have frozen to death within minutes, surely.
JLRules 1 year ago
The last ice age ended just ~12 thousand years ago, WELL within the margin of error of dating the K/Pg boundary.
Also, that's just 65 million years from end of the Cretaceous. The Mesozoic was ~180 million years long.

It's the only model that fits all of the data.
The ceratopsian in the cartoon is supposed to be a Pachyrhinosaurus, though the nose horn is incorrect.

The Taurasaurus should be dying its to cold for it.
Andulvar 2 years ago
It's an Pachyrhinosaurus. Given the size it should take some time till it dies. Even if we assume it to be cold-blooded.

DragonConvoy 1 year ago
@DragonConvoy Should also realize there isn't as much oxygen in that era for the dinosaurs to breath as well
Andulvar 1 year ago
Again that also would not cause them to die immediatly. And the late Cretaceous seemed to have a rather polluted atmosphere.
