  • Where are you from?

  • you english is better than some english over here

  • Great English! :)

  • U ARE A GENIUS WITH THE VELCRO THING!!

  • how much was the vixia? would u recomend it?

  • hi, about the wide angle lens. what is the diameter of the front lens? i think your ideas is good, have a bigger lens is good, to prevent the dark corners on the screen when shooting

  • whats a good video camera that works good in dark or tin places

  • What is the lens called?

  • 6:50 velcro : )

  • few questions:

1: what do you edit with (OS and software)

2: what did you record this video with

  • Nice rig :)

  • Great job on this video. Fantastic.

  • What is your original channeL?

  • you should get a opteka lens

  • @JAYTORRES1000 he's not filming skateboarding,he's maiing vieods and its a wide angle

  • @suckmadeck oh okay

  • How do you put on the lens , just slap it on? Please respond.. and also what is the mm on the lens for the Camcorder?

    PLEASE RESPOND

  • Good vid.

Do you have links to buy the equipment or the makes/model numbers?

    Thanks

  • excellent tutorial. you shouldn't be nervous about your english, it was perfect. thanks for all the info

  • Thanks for the great tutorial! I did the same with my Canon Vixia HF-20. I also got the Sony VCL-HA07A wide angle lens, so I put some electrician's tape around it and then the ring from a rubber lens hood. No need to glue it; i just pressed and turned it, and it got stuck pretty tightly. Then I was able to use a 72mm UV filter, just as you did. BTW, I got the Sony lens for US$29, so it is as cheap as those "cheap" fisheye lenses you mention. See my video comparing the Sony and the Opteka lenses

  • Thanks for the great tutorial I'm a writer and a film & television student. I was roaming around youtube trying to a tutorial on how to create a simple yet effective rig setup and I eventually stumbled across this video (and what a great little video it is). Oh and by the way I've got a Rode VideoMic and the quality of sound that you get from it is very good, very rich and deep. :)

    Keep up the good work

  • Excellent video. Helps me a lot. Thank you so much brother. Peace.

  • why don't you put videos in this channel anymore?

  • thats a great little rig but do you have problems when it comes to changing the battery? is the battery for this camera at the rear like it is on the canon hf21? cheers

  • Thanks for sharing this valuable information!

  • Thanks for sharing this video. Tried to order "Sima SLB-M Video Bracket" but amazon will not send it to norway. What's up with that.

  • Sonnenblende = Lens Hood ;)

  • Good tutorial. I have a similar rig, Vixia HF200, Vivitar Wide Angle Lens, Hood, Rode Mic, etc. I tell everyone that it's more important to get your settings right (DON'T USE AUTO MODE!), white balance, frame rate, apature, etc, and use a tripod whenever possible. If you do this...THESE CANON CAMERAS CAN GIVE YOU PRO RESULTS! Nice job.

  • Hi great tutorial!!! I had a panasonic SD1 and Im going to buy a azden smx-10 mic, but mi camcorder dont have shoe adapter and I thinking use de SIMA BRACKET. Do you tried in boths side´s of the camcorder biside of the back? I want to know wich possition is better for recording sound before tu buy de bracket.

Thanks bro, and if you can made a tutorial I´ll will be great!!! Cheers

  • @juliogodefroy I've tried it in the back and in the right side. It does not make much difference in the sound. But I think it's better to place it in the back because I don't want to have to hold the Bracket all the time (besides, the mic might pick sound noise if you do so).

I'm not able to use it in the left side because of the camcorder's lcd screen.

  • @juliogodefroy how much was the vixia? and would u sugest it?

  • @juliogodefroy im srry wrong comment lol

  • Great ! Thank you !!

  • Great ideas for modifying the camera. Thank you!

  • yo you dont have bad english speaking skills. i didnt even know until i read the caption

  • How do you mount the bracket on a tripod?

I've been looking at pictures of the same that you have and I can't see any hole to screw into..

  • @LowerTimes There is a hole in the bottom, in the same screw you use to mount the camcorder on the bracket.

  • Okay, thanks a lot ;) Your english is not bad at all by the way.

  • Thanks for you information. You are a very clever guy and I like your work.

I was getting ready to order a Canon WD-H37 II for $160 US tonight and you have saved me some money; plus you have inspired me to be more creative about making the pieces fit together. Thanks again.

  • Your english sounds fine to me!

  • ditto

  • nice rig mate, and the velcro to put the lens cap on sure was a good idea !

    Keep it up ;)

  • can that bracket go on a tripod??

  • yes

  • can you attach the rode videomic to a boom stick?

  • Yes. Tripod, mic-stand, boom pole, shoe mount. there are all kinds of attachments in this thing.

  • Very helpful,Thankyou

  • Cool video, cheers for the infomation; I am thinking about buying the same lens for my Sony camcorder. Brilliant idea with the velcro to stick the lens-cap to!

  • very nice camera.

    Thanks for the information

  • hi! am i right that you're from Germany? if so, could you tell me where you got the video bracket? i'm from Hungary, and would like to buy one, but i only found american ebay sellers. thx

  • American ebay sellers - that's how I got it.

  • I have also Canon HF100 and Rode VideoMic.

It's just stupid that HF100 has the "Advanced minishoe" which just sucks with non-Canon mics. I didn't bought any external holder for the mic, but I got mic into the mini-shoe by filing the plastic square thing bottom of the mic.

Otherwise Canon HF100 is very good HD-cam. Good external connections and excellent video quality in this price class.

  • A camcorder to look very professional, very nice work!

  • very cool! looks liek you put a lot of work in to it, and the thing you glued to teh LDC screen is called Velcro (Vel/crO)
