You're doing it wrong, It's supposed to be 'twist, lick and dunk' for the Oreo, not just dunk. Also with the Tim Tam, you're supposed to bite both ends, then suck the milk until it hits your lips, and then when it does you're supposed to eat the end that was in the milk, not put it all in your moth LOL The point is the chocolate is melted at that end.

Tim Tam slamming works well with all hot drinks, and some cold... but better with tea, or coffee etc. The flavour of tea/coffee is good at offsetting the sweetness.

BUT... Once you suck through the middle, you only should eat the bottom half... then have the rest after the first few chews. Watch Natalie Imbruglia's demonstration.

Oh yeah, and down here in Australia we have varieties of Tim Tams... so you should try the others out. (mint, cherry, choc strawberry, double choc...)
