My best friend has diabetes; very single time I watch this video I cry like there's no tomorrow. No, I don't know what it feels like to have diabetes, but in some ways I do. I'm always there, through the highs and the lows. I'm the only person her mom will trust, that isn't immediate family, to make sure her numbers are all right. I have diabetes(7.5 years yesterday) I'm 16. This disease sucks. I have to leave class sometimes and I have had teachers and friends judge. They have no idea how my body feels somedays. Somedays I feel as if I'm going to passout yet I still put on a smile and act as if I feel fine. People that don't have this disease honestly have no idea. They may think that they do but they don't. Plus I hate pitty. I just want to be treated like everyone else. People with diabetes aren't diffrent!

I used to not get the big deal quite as much. I mean I know what diabetes is and I know it's awful, I have reletives that have it. But today my little cousin was diagnosed with it. Now I get how hard it is for a kid/teenager. Our other cousin's birthday party is tomorrow and Andrew can't even have any cake. It kinda all hit me at once, birthdays, Christmas, Easter, halloween ... it's all gonna be so different for him now. And he just turned six.

im 14 and was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes around 4th grade,diabetes isnt that depressing/sad, its a huge bummer sometimes, but dont say u feel sorry for them, there normal ppl just like you, except with a little bit more complication in their life, and plz think about what your saying when u say "im so proud of nick and his effort to fight diabetes",well so am i,but, do me a favor and mean it about all of us nextime
