  • i have this extern HDD.. installed it on that.. and suddenly i cant find my extern HDD on my windows 7 nor in linux, all the stuff i had on it is gone =(((

  • how do u switch screens? :o? can someone tell me.

  • @daryl1784 if you mean by switching screens, rotating the cube its ctrl+alt and either clicking the mouse and dragging or using the arrows to switch between desktops......

  • @daryl1784 The program you're looking for used to be called Beryl but is now called Compiz Fusion. Hope that helps .

  • Omg , this is way better than Ubuntu. ubuntu has a lot of bus and it freezes a lot. How come in 10.04 they took out all of the "Extra Animations"?!! .I got so mad. But I'm watching this video and linux mint still has it. And it looks less buggy. Thumbs up!

  • please help me i went to linux and downloaded it and burned it to a disk and the i rebooted my computer to try to make it work but it just wouldn't what do i do?

  • @joshuarocks102 you will have to go into the BIOS and make sure your cd drive is the first boot device, if it is set to the hard drive just change it to the cd drive...........

  • i love linux mint

  • yeah that was pretty pathetic of ya VVVVV

  • Just tried to install it but it wouldn´t recognize my usb mouse so couldn´t select anything to install, pathetic!!

  • @bicnarok then you have never tryed mac...

  • i had a look in the linux online shop:

Is the full Linux mint 8 Helena really only £3.99(GBP)? Also am I able to keep my windows vista stuff (I am thinking about upgrading) Like, Microsfot word, microsfot excell, e.t.c. Files that I have made on it. And also is iTunes going to work on it?

  • Linux is free to download, you can either dual boot with windows or use WINE to run your windows stuff, itunes etc.

  • @tompom44

Linux Mint 8 is free. just check their site out. (god I hope this doesn't l ook like I am spamming their shit haha)

I'm sure MOST Linux distros are free. soem like... I think it's called RedHat are pay for distros. to check more out try distrowatch*DOT*com

:S man. I always feel dirty after posting sites haha. I feel like one of em assholes who says "come watch bla bla for free"

  • hey skinnymg1, nice video how is the responsiveness compare to Ubuntu 9.10

  • linux mint 8 is light years better than ubuntu man. ive been using linux mint for a year now. linux mint = ubuntu with bug fixes.

  • I still run Ubuntu as well as Mint and i will say on the initial install Mint is better but after a little work Ubuntu is still right there with it.

  • @skinnymg1

Mint uses a glossy version of KDE (which is fundamentally lame)

  • @spycloud you better do your research before you go saying that the version in the video is GNOME not KDE and that is it im out............

  • @Raja221 U tryed anu upgrade with LM? how did it go?

  • I did a clean install of linux mint 8 and its running great so far. i love it.

  • @Raja221 hell yes, Mint should be the most popular distro, it's ubuntu but better.

  • The responsiveness is really nice and my computer that is running it is not really all that big. Its a celron dual core 2.0ghz, 2GB of ram, A nvidia 680xt video card, and a 160GB HDD.
