My grandfather had great stories, too. He was born in 1888 and traveled in Egypt, Turkey, and France in 1907 while working on ships to get to America. He was a great story teller right up to the end of his life in 1981. So many stories. I miss the old people and their adventures.
@kukral I bet he had an amazing life. I think we should all strive for such a thing. This generation will have so little to tell when they are old I think, tells of how many years the sit and played video games maybe lol.
That's just how people react to stories told by old men. But when I was 12 I spent 2 weeks at a Scout camp in Colorado. There was a WWI veteran along with us. I spent the whole time listening to his stories of flying a Neuport 17, including getting shot down and captured. I loved hearing every detail of how the plane handled. Details like that are lost forever except for what's on film. They're all dead by now. Now i'm a pilot and I only hope one day when I'm old someone will be interested.
@nearadyn Sounds great mate:) My grandparents aren't exactly interesting, and on my mothers side they're all dead. I'd love to have listened to a older voice of reason. Who knows, maybe I'll be the one to listen to you :) See you in the future!
This is either unrealistic or the fellow diners are incredibly rude. Who the hell would sit down at the same table as someone and not acknowledge them until they spoke?
Gee, today on the recent TV shows, they aren't like this anymore. I wished that they continued to show these because it would educate young minds to go out for some adventure. I am hoping to buy these series on the DVD. So far I have to save up money for the ones in Walmart.... Thanks for having these up! :D
These snippets are great - I'm using them to pull information for the Indiana Jones wikia. Any chance you also have the closing credits for all the episodes - just to confirm role names and cast (imdb is sometimes in error), and the DVDs might cut some of the bookend cast.
Hi JawaJames, I've seen your name as one of the editors of that site. Last year I signed up to the Indy wikia to fill in the Old Indy stuff and have been meaning to do it. I wouldn't mind be the main Old Indy contributor. :-)
Yes, I have the closing credits with all the extra characters/actors names which were indeed cut from the VHS & DVDs. I've got it all.
we'd love to have someone help with contributions on YIJC, especially where it differs from the later re-releases - like with Old Indy. I just finished a big project to populate the content for "Verdun, September 1916" and i'd love an extra set of eyes to go over the cast/characters list to make sure no one was left out or mispelled. there's even entries for the Stewardess and the "Pirate of Wall Street"
I think old Indy is pretty accurate. Besides, if you're a fan of the show, it just goes to show that his rambles are worth something. Also, he is played by a different actor, is old, and seems to have lost one eye. Sure, it doesn't look like Indy, but listen to what he says. He has the same personality he always has. Just imagine Harrison Ford saying it and it fits perfectly. Just because he's old doesn't mean he isn't cool anymore. Also, if he was born in 1899, then that would make him 109. ^_^
I never understoon why Indy was like "grandpa simson" and why he was all weak and had that giant eye patch. He just wasnt Indiana Jones. Lucas should release the original show the way it was!
With all due respect to the late George Hall, I'm glad the old Indy scenes were cut from the DVDs. I hate to imagine Indy as a 'Grampa Simpson' type rambling old man...
They had Harrison Ford himself do a similar scene in the Mystery of the Blues episode. I can see it happen. Besides, what do you expect Indy to be doing at 93?

all we know is he lives to be at least 93. we dont know anything about his life after this
Beeji69 2 years ago
For all we know, Indiana Jones lives until he's 120 years old... now that's a ripe old age, and generally the only possible highest age to attain.

It says 1992 in the beginning... That would make him 93 years old -not 109 :)

So Indiana Jones lived to that age huh? Ah, that's good, but he became a rambling old half blind man lol, kinda funny
