I downloaded Hovind's dissertation with the intent of reading it. A couple of pages in it was brutally apparent that there was no point in reading any further. I would have been embarrassed to hand in a mess like that when I was in grade 7.
Theres no real reason to "argue" with creationists. All that needs to be done is explain to them their ignorance of science and correct any errors they make in their assumptions. There are no credible or serious creationist arguments that warrant consideration.

What we need in the United States is a national Ph.D accreditation agency. We need minimal academic standards AND to legally protect the degree. In Germany, you may not call yourself Dr. Anything unless you graduated from an accredited program. Furthmore, you have to list what you're a doctor of. So if you have a doctorate in bible thumping, you don't get to speak on biology, at least with your title.

I find that common sense isn't so common even amongst those that went through all that school to get that fancy title. One of my dirty little secrets is that I have a copy of Kent Hovind's PhD thesis, and when I need cheering up I take it out and have a good laugh at it.
I'm currently doing a PhD myself and I understand the criteria for a successful thesis, and Kent Hovind doesn't meet any of them.
His total original contribution to knowledge is zilch. The closest he comes is making broad sweeping statements with absolutely no source cited or method of research described.

No null or alternate hypotheses, no experimentation, no observations, no gathering or analysis of data of any kind. No conclusions. Just page after page of "He believes the Bible". I think he looked at the criteria for a PhD thesis and wrote out an opposite set of criteria and followed that instead. It's the only way to explain how poor it is. what is a dissertation? I don't get what was going on? all I know is that the school looks like a sham, kent hovind went there and he's an uneducated creationist that gets owned by anyone who's graduated from HS.

His dissertation is quite priceless, "It has long been my contention that evolution is just another religion. There is no empirical evidence to back it up so it is certainly not a part of science". Just laughable!

This is a legitimate university, whether you like it or not.
The reason why you're smearing it is because you want to discredit Kent Hovind, because deep down you fear him.
Really, you know that Kent Hovind is right, so you want to do all you can to make him look bad, which shows just how intellectually immature you are.

@SupportKentHovind In a sense you are correct when you say Kent is "feared." It is not so much Kent personally but the yawning abyss of ignorance and superstition he represents. Unlike you, i have actually read his "dissertation." It is simply a written version of his lectures. Shorn of his dramatic flaire and histrionics, his facile misunderstanding and manifest ignorance of history and science are shocking. His words sound like the bizarre and grammatically faulty ravings of a disordered mind.

How could Patriot "University" and Kent be any less credible?
