You are right!!! He breaks the B string during his solo and Mark Knopfler realises, thats why you cant hear clapton at certain bits in the song. He also broke a string at knebworth 90 with dire straits, SAME STRING TOO! what are the chances??? Dire straits and clapton rule!

The difference is also about the amp settings, but Pensa for sure gives much more treble than the ol' Les Paul. For me this high treble-low gain sounding of Pensa is much better than the low hum of Les Paul, it gives way more character to the intro...

Mark Knopfler rules! And youre right! Eric Clapton does tend to use the electric guitar good sounding part, But Mark Knopfler is a true musical genius, writing the song he plays... he tends to explore different music types, eg Gaelic traditional and stuff

Hey A. Lloyd... Some of his songs are such like Darling Pretty... (From the album Golden Heart, also visable in "One night in london") I think the majority of the gaelic influenced song's are on that CD "Golden Heart"... Mark is also influenced by Chet Atkins (as you may know)
