  • thats junk

  • Will souping up the engine harm the lawn mower in any way??

  • @drummerboy32495 The engine is not actually souped up. The only moving part that has been modified is the transmission: pulleys and new gear box (switched from hydrostatic to manual). Now, this might have an effect on the engine because it might work a little harder to move the pulleys, but theoretically no harm should be done to the engine.

  • im gonna take the whole exhaust off of my 165 and im gonna make a new one in school then im gonna stack it.

  • im seriously considering getting rid of my hydrostatic on my tractor if i can find the right one for it

  • I have a craftsman - Hydro that sat for two years - it was hung and would not roll when shut off - to move it - so I rocked it and moved the shifter - also the piece that engages the rear end - [ says it can be put into neutral to tow or move a long distance not running] anyway - got it to run and drive but the thing sounded horrid and no reverse - once- -now - it will not move - how to check fluid level? how to make work?

  • I bet you spend like 5 minutes mowing your lawn haha

  • Thats awesome

  • hahahahhahaha man you were really hauling on that thing lol

  • I have an stx38 i'm fixin up to use around the house. Mines already a 5 spd manual. Don't have any brakes, though. It's missing some parts in that area.

Looks like a neat way to speed it up! How'd you go about finding the right belt?

  • thats man i might sell myen and do that

  • did you have to modify the hydro static to come off and to put the knew 6 speed or watever did you have to make room for the shifter?

  • Haha, yeah. The trannys are just bolted on, but the shifter is a problem because the hydro shifter just comes straight up on the right side and the manual shifter comes over the tranny from the left and then out the right side....well that doesn't work too well. So I just took out the deck level adjuster (there's a plastic piece there, remove it along with the lever) and found another part to connect to the tranny. I pull on that, it's awkward but works. Good luck, be safe, God Bless!

  • fuck that sucks lol i just bought it for 200 bucks a club cadet lol

  • What sort of gearbox did you use?

  • Manual. Off of a STX38 5-speed. Not sure the ratio in it.

  • will a hydro staic mower be able to keep up?

  • Definaly not. Not unless you ran a couple of chains to seperate axles underneath....if you swap the pulleys on a hrdro it will damage it.

  • Yeah, that's a definite no. I tried it actually. At first I had the new pulleys running on a hydro, but it didn't move any faster. Get a new tranny: manual. The trick now is to figure out a clutch.

  • Nice work, man What model is that? Looks jsut like my 130. Kawi FQ230 I think engine? What size pulleys did you do with? thanks

  • All the info you need is on the description of the vid. thanks!

  • ah I cant be bothered to read all that. Thanks anyways.

  • hey thats sweet, nice job. where did you get the pully's at and what hp motor does that have on it?

  • I got the front pulley from a local machine shop, they do all sorts of random specialty stuff like that. The rear pulley: from the local hardware store. It's been awhile since I touched the mower, but I believe it's a 10.5 horse. Sorry for the vagueness. It's not a very high-horsepower mower, just a lot of torque with those pulleys.

    God Bless

  • Yeah, you switched out the pulley. Did you have to add new belt/s? Also, do you cut the grass with it or is it just for messing around? Was it difficult to get the engine pulley out? Was it pressed on or does it just slip out? o.o

  • New belt: yes. Just wanted to make it go fast...took the deck off if you notice. Taking the pulley off wasn't too bad, getting it on was a pain. Because the new pulley was so much bigger it had a hard time fitting. They slip on, but there's a screw that you tighten to hold it on there. Thanks for the interest.

  • Did something to the pulleys? Doubt you did anything else except take the hood off to try to make it look hot(which it didn't)!!

  • I put a 6inch pulley on the engine and a 1/2inch on the tranny. Therefore, for every rotation of the engine pulley - which is bigger - there are about 12 rotations on the tranny (I'm guessing). The tranny turns the shafts which in turn turns the wheels, and since they're moving ridiculously fast, the mower moves fast. Taking off the hood won't make it faster, sorry. Peace.

  • dont be a hater this guy seems to know what hes talking about fuck tard i dont see your fuckin mower so shut up

  • how did you get it to go that fast

  • Read the description and be careful.

  • holy shit that things fast
