  • I dont want to see a black number three on the track as well...however DEI cant do anything about it...Richard own's that number and he can do anything with it and NASCAR cant say anything about it... as an Earnhardt fan from a very young age I need to think of this as Richard is paying a trubite to his dear friend Dale... we still see numbers on the track that I personally dont think we should see i.e. 7,28,33,51 and more.

  • no there is no new 3 car there might be a car with a nuber 3 but the 3 car is dale and dale is the 3 car

  • Junior Johnson and Fireball Roberts both drove #3 cars. Sooner or later NASTYCAR will put it back on track.

  • dale sr should be the only one to drive the 3 car, cause they ask jr shortly after his dad died if he would take over the 3, and jr said no he dosent want to drive it. trust me jr wont let anyone back into the #3. and if yall want to get technical the #3 is retired they changed it to the #29

  • There will never be a number 3 under dei for 2 reasons:

    1. dei ceased operations in 2007 i think

    2. richard childress has all rights to the number 3 and has since 1969

Allow me to quote someone on this matter:

" I think it would be awesome to see and hope the kid can block out all the naysayers" Dale Jr in an mrn radio interview when asked his thoughts about dillon running a 3 in future cup races and the bullshit he is gonna catch over it

  • @terry0788 it was shelfed by childress out of respect for dale and nascar basically told him with all the new teams breaking in use it or lose it

  • i think sr. should be the only one to drive the #3 car

  • Richard was the three original driver

  • this is the worst music

  • JR is the only one that can drive it now adays...and he retired it rom Nationwide and is not letting anyone touch it in Sprint

  • @berserkerflame666 junior has ZERO say in what NASCAR does with its numbers... lol

austin dillon will probably be in the #3 in the cup series in less than 3 years, so you crybabies better get used to it by then. it's only been over a decade.

  • dale jr should drive no else and dale sr will be miss

  • @MegaChrissey so technically it's retired

  • they didnt retire the number

  • @TheMiner23 ass hole

  • dale jr said he didnt want to drive the 3. well Kerry Earnhardt son Jeffrey Earnhardt should drive the 3 not dillion. the 3 should stick with the Earnhardt family

  • his number retired and no body can have a #3 car

  • @MegaChrissey it not officaly retired so technically RCR can use it but they have said never unless under certain circumstances

  • i think they should retire #3

  • from what i last heard The Cup Series number 3 has been retired

  • the only reason richard MIGHT bring back the #3 is to let his son austin dillon drive it. and he has already said if he were to do somethin like that in the sprint cup series it would be a different #3. and it's not like earnhardt was the only guy to ever drive the #3. junior johnson made it famous before anybody. nothin against dale, when you think 3 you think dale. but if austin drives it, it will be a dedication to dale and more importantly richard cuz he also drove that number.

  • guys its just a number remember the man who made it famous dont remember him as a number

  • Richard Childress owns the rights to the number so yeah. :|

  • What series was that "new #3" from? I don't remember seeing it in any race; aside from the few Busch/Nationwide Series races where Dale Jr. drove it, the only other #3 has been RCR's truck team currently fielded for Austin Dillon. And when Junior drove the #3, it was either a blue AC Delco paint scheme or (at Daytona this year) the retro yellow-and-blue Wrangler paint scheme Senior drove before GM Goodwrench became his sponsor...

  • i agree but only in sprint cup because the 3 acually belongs to richard becuase he drove it first so let austin drive it all the way up to truck series but no cup. because it is only not allowed in cup.

  • Y'all seem to forget that Austin Dillon is RICHARD CHILDRESS' GRANDSON. That's as close to family to Dale as you're going to get. He drove that number in ARCA and other series that he raced in, not because of Dale but because it's his favorite number. He has a history with the number, and the number 3 has history behind it prior to Dale, and people seem to forget that. He didn't "make it famous," it was just as great under Junior Johnson's name.

  • @wakko1337 You left out one important fact he drove it because it was Richards number before it was Dale's continuing a family tradition just like JR would be doing if he drove it.

  • is there is someone going to drive it should be dale je

  • its a discrase to dale earnheart if the the #3 if ever raced again hes abd JR SHOULD BE THE ONLY ONES TO DRIVE IT EVER. he was the best driver on the track and he was well hated but respected by all the drivers and team mates

  • If AJ Almendinger, John Andretti, and Bobby Hamilton can drive the #43 as long as its with Richard Petty, why can't anyone else drive the #3 as long as its with RCR?

  • @louieakaslip because dale made the car and the number known world wide and its a discrace to him if JR DOSENT DRIVE THE #3 THE CAR SHOULD BE PUT TO REST LIKE IT DRIVE

  • The number 3 cannot be used in sprint cup, ever again. Its retired from use. Second if it wasn't I'd only be ok with it if Jr. drove it or gave permission for it to be used.

  • @CountyLT76 Yeah it can. That's a common misconception. The 3 car is forever under Richard Childress' name as long as he's in racing, he can assign it to whomever he chooses.

  • they just need too keep number 3 in hall of fame and not use ever again in nascar

  • RCR owns the number. But he will only use it if jr. drives for him

  • a number 3 should only be owned by rcr or dei

  • it is its richard childrens grandson

  • thats a arca car thats why not even nascar

  • How do you know???

  • Comment removed

  • Yes but that wasn't in the sprint cup

  • @PaulPeirceFan JR. is going to drive the #3 GoodWrench car at the next Pepsi 400

  • @619time2619 i heard it was the shootout he would be driving it

  • @PaulPeirceFan It may be both but JR. might accualy win with he dads car since he can win with the 88 lol

  • @619time2619 Fail, no he wasn't.

  • @wakko1337 It was NationWide he qalifide 3 and won

  • Jr should be able to drive the 3.

  • @XxAnnieApatheticxX he wanted Dale Jr on his team after he left DEI and told Jr he could drive the #3 car but Dale said he didn't want to drive his dads car

  • I agree 100 percent! Jr should be the only one to drive the #3!

  • Yeah since it was his dad's number

  • @DaleJr2010 i think corect me if im wrong they wont run 3 any more except in trucks they run 03

  • @masterteen2 your close they are running the #3 in the truck series driven by Austin Dillon Grandson to Richard Childress

  • @asphaltcowboy07 i could have sworn they said 03 not just #3

  • @DaleJr2010 yes Jr should be the only one to drive the #3 but he said he isn't going to run that number again and anyway Richard Childress owns the rights to the #3 so the only way anyone can use that number is if Childress gives someone permission, and his Grandson is running the #3 in the truck series anyway.
