  • i have a question. i live in tucson also and i drive around with my ak47. do i need to keep it unloaded? cuz will they take out all the bullets like they did yu. im 18 so they would like treat me like a criminal

  • I live in Tempe and i carry a Glock 19 iwb right behind my right pocket where I keep my wallet. I guess my question is, in my case should I let the officer know I am carrying a firearm before he asks for my identification because I think he would see the 19 sticking out when I reach for my wallet because cops are always watching where your hands are during traffic stops.

  • @mattc1683

    LOL, liar eh?

    ignorant?

sounds like you are the one who can't understand the law of AZ which I quoted, and referred you to

Your lack of professionalism, knowledge and respect show you for what you are.. can't hide it ..

since you can not even communicate without threats, name calling and lies..we are done here

  • If you have a ccw in az. When they run your plates would it show them that you have a ccw permit?

  • @themattlyone

it does, but maybe he didn't pay attention to that screen or something

  • I believe in Florida you are not obligated to disclose. Chances are they are not going to do a search anyway. If they do, THEN you can tell them you are carrying before getting out of the car so as not to alarm the cops.

  • @N2thedrink

I saw a video where you simply give your ccw permit along with your license. I don't know if I'd even do that. Probably wouldn't say anything.

  • Im from Yuma, AZ and i love bein a citizen of this great, constitution upholding State!

  • Ok, so while everyone will likely disagree with me on this (from what I've read), I would never tell an officer that I am carrying. In my house and car I am not required to have a permit. With a CHP I am not required to tell them that I am carrying concealed. I don't want them screwing up and shooting someone (including myself or themselves) with my my gun. Additionally, it's honestly none of their business. Just saying. Good video, made me sub.

  • @ZackTheKack

    I tend to agree

  • Than for the info, I still want my ccw and now u don't need one should make the classes a like cheaper right...lol

  • Don't load it until after I leave......lame.

  • Constitutional Carry? Thats awesome. I wish Michigan had that. I have to foot $300 to get a CCW.

  • Especially in these high stressed times uhh?. . . . .keep up the good work.

  • Point taken. Double edged sword. Thanks for the response.

  • @Booozsht

I am not totally disagreeing with you, just that here in AZ at least my experience is from maybe 5 or 6 traffic stops, is only two resulted in a ticket, and only this once has the LEO asked if we had guns and then cared or wanted to have it.. so I don't think I would bring it up in the future unless asked directly about it since the stops seem to go faster when it isn't an issue at all

  • @GunWebsites if he shot your leg, you can sue the state for money.

  • @nunvikingsofthesea

not something I would want to do

  • @GunWebsites

When I got stopped in Florida while carrying, I didn't divulge any information either. Doing 19mph over the limit and he gave me a warning.

  • Always a good idea to inform officers that you have a weapon from the get go, I imagine if they found out half way through the stop, they would feel uncomfortable about the fact that they were vulnerable for those first minutes as they were in the presence of a weapon for minutes without knowledge of that information. Great Post!

  • @Booozsht

not always.. some LEO are more scared of guns than people who hate guns for a living

  • Just curious what would be the point of getting a CCW anymore if its optional? Is there another benefit?

  • @TheDragonDelasangre

    yes, many

can carry in more places, carry in other states, not deal with NICS when buying firearms.. a few more

  • HAHAHAHA - 'even when you're a big deal on the internet...'

  • @HowlingStatic

that is how it's been for me before too

  • do i have to tell the officer i am carrying at the start of our interaction?

  • @glockfan86 ( i dont live in az and was wondering if there are states that require it )

  • @glockfan86

in some states, yes.. check the laws

  • @glockfan86 You always should as a courtesy.

  • @glockfan86 I would. because the worse thing hes gonna do is ask you to take it out and unload it on the dash board. personally, if i was a police officer, i would be pissy if you didnt tell me, because when i run your ID, its gonna tell me you have a license to carry

  • @MarchingBlueNGold

if you were a cop you would know that just because a person has the ability to do something doesn't mean they always exercise that ability...

  • @GunWebsites True that..but if i was carrying, i would just play it safe and mention im carrying. Ive actually never been pulled over, but my father who has carried a gun since the dinosaurs roamed had an experience with a cop that actually lead to a conversation with him for like 20 minutes about his sr40 lol

  • If I pulled a CCW holder over in a car stop,I don't beleive I would bother reaching into someones pocket to retrieve it.If you were compliant enough to answer in the affirmative It would be good enough for me.

  • i dont know about u guys but ima use a rifle for a ccw in my pant legs

  • I live in AR and got pulled over by a state trooper for speeding. I handed him my drivers license and my ccw permit. He handed my permit back to me immideiately and didn't ask about it. I was carrying at the time, as well. I guess he wasn't too worried about it. I just wanted to be up front with him from the beginning. Otherwise, he would've seen on my record that I'm a ccw permit holder and wondered why I wasn't up front with him. That's what we are encouraged to do, anyways.

  • my buddy and i got pulled over in elsmere, de and sat there for a good hour, had guns drawn on us and had the entire clown ass police force there, for one pistol :]

  • @MrKalashnikov47 thats bullshit! did you tell them up front that you were carrying or did they ask?

  • @Nicho2177 yes when asked for license registration and proof of insurance, he also produced his ccdw card, these cops are just ass fuckers around here:]

  • @MrKalashnikov47 I know how shit is.. have you seen the video called ohio cop goes nuts?

  • Great video. Real life stories tell the fact better than anything.

  • In CT they take you out of the car to disarm you while they are talking to you. If they are dicks, they will check every bullet. I dont mind it if it makes the cops safer. Plus it helps avoid confusion in a nervous cops head or whatever.

  • @mattbagon960

Absolutely! I'd rather him be safe about what he's doing than anything. I can definitely understand why an officer would want to disarm you while he has you pulled over.

  • What was the ticket ?

  • Can U carry Unconcealed ?

  • What would be the benefit to getting a concealed carry license if you have the option to legally carry without?

Is there any place you wouldn't be able to carry unless you had a license?

  • My brother who is 21 was carrying concealed in w.a state. He did not have a concealed carry permit but the gun was loaded. By my suprise they just unloaded the gun put the rounds in a rubber glove and field stripped the weapon and handed it back.

  • Boy, I wish it was like that in Maryland. Dang uptight state. Good vid man.

  • what a great state

  • I lived in Tucson from 74 to 81. I don't remember the gun laws being strict at all. But that was a long time ago. I got pulled over 18 yrs old, had a 38 snubie on the passenger seat. LEO said, "don't forget your gun" what ever happened to those days? Live in Florida now. Have my ccw, no problems with leo's yet.

  • im kinda a big deal on the internet lol

  • Hey GunWebsites, thanks for sharing this little story. It is always interesting for me as a not resident to hear such things. Greetings from the poor gunlawed germany

  • I mean I could see how congress would make it more difficult for the average citizen to stand behind the 2nd amendment since they have not been able to just change the amendment all together.

  • This is just FYI.... I reside in the state of Tennessee and have been here since 99'. I first obtained my cc permit in 2003-2004 @ a total price of around $165 this included the class, fingerprints for the FBI, etc. I checked on a class today for my girlfriend, brother, and grandomother to get their cc permits and the total price is now around $250. The girl that was giving me the info was stating that now everything is seperate, the class, fingerprints, etc. I still think its congress. Do You?

  • as far as I am aware there are no reg laws in Arizona. cops can't just type in a guns see number and see who owns it. they can however see if its stolen.

  • @alunaticbastard

    good point

  • you know what I was born and raised in San Diego CA got SD tatted all over me and Im starting to realize now that Im 28 how much CA really fuckin sucks with crooked cops and fuckt up gun laws. its really easy to get felonies over here and get your rights taken for ever. I want to move somewhere where I can fire a fully automatic 50/100 round magazine if I want to. I dont even know if I can carry concealed gun in CALI pretty sure not ,fuckin sucks!!!

  • i live in cali, if you are cought with a gun on you while you are in your car you WILL get shot by the police, california is VERY anti gun. it suck ass but when we vote on these type of things even if the vote gets approved the courts always shoot it back down. fuck california.....

  • If you get pulled over with a SBR or SBS in your truck, do they make you show your NFA thingy miggiger?

  • @machinegun911

the tax stamp? no, but it would be wise to have handy

  • @GunWebsites to add on to that, who really has the authority to check and see if you have your tax stamp, ATF ONLY ?? STATE POLICE?

  • @GunWebsites Ditto, I would have a photocopy of it in the case the weapon is in, just for an added layer of security

  • send them back az is great

  • I always provide my Military ID, DL, and CCW with every stop when asked so it does not seem like I am hiding anything. good practice to do to reasure the LEO.

  • @primoknoxville LEO can disarm you in the course of a lawful stop or search. If you do not reply at the least you will lose your CCW. At worst a shoot out and/or life/freedom(jail). They are required to return in after the incounter is over. You might want to do more research into this. There is a difference between confiscate and disarm.

  • An officer has the right to ask you to do anything, that includes asking you to run around and act like a chicken, it's up to you do say yes or no. When it comes to officer safety (at least in Texas) an officer can MAKE you do certain things if he feels it is safer for him and can articulate why. Even though that is how it is in Texas most states are very similar in their laws

  • @primoknoxville

    learn AZ law

  • I have had my CCW license for 2 years now, and live in South Florida. I have never been pulled over carrying (yet). In Fl. we are not required to tell the officer we are armed, unless they ask, or you want to volunteer the info. I have always thought how will I handle it? I guess I will tell him when I give him my license and ccw permit. of course I dont want anyone putting their grubby fingerprints on my gun. oh well

  • It should not have been an issue at all, i.e. you should not have had to step out of the vehicle and you certainly should not have had to give him the gun.

  • More than likely if you had just told him from the start you may not have even gotten a ticket. That has been my experience. I've gotten pulled over 4 times since I've been carrying, and each time I handed my CPL with my DL and never got a ticket (in WA state).

  • I've been stopped twice in SC as a CCW holder and armed and I had no problems. Both times gave my CCW permit with my drivers license and said I was armed as required by law. I didn't have to hand over the weapon or even show it. I got a warning both times and went on my way. The cops were professional both times and I had no problems.

  • Here in NC we're told to tell the cop immediately that we have a CCW and we're armed, then let the cop decide how to disarm you (usually by you handing over the weapon muzzle down and grip towards him/her). I personally don't believe anyone should have to surrender their weapon, especially with a valid CCW. That should be evidence we're not violent offenders. Besides, in NC when they run your plates the CCW comes back as part of the plate check. However, I can understand officers worrying.

  • Is there a size limit to which the weapon can be for CCW?

  • @Dallastown18 It probably varies from state to state but in most places if you can conceal it, and it is legal then no problem. For example there are guys that will carry a Kel Tec sub 2000 carbine folded up in their backpack as a CCW and it is legal.

  • @Dallastown18

    nope

  • I was pulled over about a year ago for speeding. The cop asked if I had any guns or knives with me and I told him I had two guns on me and two knives and where they were located. He told me to just keep my hands in view and all went well.

  • If you can carry concealed under constitutional carry, why then keep an option to have issued a CCW. I could understand it is so if you carry out of state to another state with reciprocity agreement with AZ. Can you clear this up for me. And, are there still some requirements needed to be met by the citizen in order to lawfully carry under constitutional carry just as is the case with a CCW? Thanks for the video.

  • @SuspectingCitizen so you can go to other states that have reciprocity laws.

  • @SuspectingCitizen Yes for Reciprocity in other states. The only way to carry in other states if you are from AZ is if you have the CCW permit. As long as that state has reciprocity with AZ.

  • @SuspectingCitizen

with a ccw in AZ you can enter a resturaunt that serves alcohol. under the constitutional carry it is not allowed. in addition. the safety class can be waived showing proof of military vet status (dd-214)..

  • Sounds like a reasonable procedure. I agree it is weird and uncomforting for the cop to pull the gun out, but he is thinking for his safety. Maybe he could have asked you to use your non shooting hand with 2 fingers to pull it out but glad it went okay, minus the ticket. Thanks for sharing!

  • Sure wish they would adopt Constitutional Carry in Michigan, getting your CPL is kinda expensive. I have mine but I would love for my wife to have the right to carry concealed without the hassle of CPL licensing.

  • @neolexington

Wives being arrested for being in cars with access to the husbands (with CCW) gun is one of the reasons we were able to pass this in AZ.

Not to mention a few states have had CC for much longer than we have.

Start pushing for it, plenty of evidence to show it works

  • Your ticket had nothing to do with the guns right?

  • @1995bbboy

    correct

  • Friend of mine got pulled over, notified the cop that he had a ccw and was carrying. Cop said "you leave your's where it is, and I'll leave mine where it is..."

  • @89cummins Same thing happened to me. Never had any issue with police in NC when getting pulled over.

  • @89cummins

yup, that's how it goes a lot of the time here too

  • LoL like the Joke at the End LoL

  • @daretohaveorangehair

I thought it went well with this vid and our channel, lol

  • thanks for the real world experience, glad it went well and hope you get the item fixed! So with constitutional carry, it sounds like there is no need for CCW permit?

  • @drzmanproject

correct, anyone can choose to carry concealed if they want to

Gotta figure the bad guys don't know who might resist (and with what force) these days

  • I also live in AZ and been pulled over twice both minor no tickets. First time as soon as he walked up I told him there was a handgun in the glove box he asked me to step out, he took it out and held it till the end and gave it back with the mag out and put it in the back seat. Second one was 2 weeks ago first thing i said was "Officer I have a handgun on me" he said thats fine and that my headlight were off.

  • i want to move to arizona. california gun laws suck. i want to be a police officer but cant realy train with an ar15 until im on the squad with a real mag release, and other things that I wont even get into. but i know that when im a cop, i would love to know that you have a gun. I know you proly had you reasons, just sayin. but nice vids, im a big fan of your awsome ar15 sbr vids. well all vids.

  • @humboldtgunguy

well like I tried to explain, and as you can read in the comments.. most of the time the police don't care if you are carrying

  • i live in tucson

  • LMAO at the quote at the end :D

  • Thanks for sharing that, man. I've been interested to hear different ways that interaction pans out. I've been pulled over several times by TPD and by Pima Country Sheriffs, but the only time I was ever asked if I was carrying was one of the few times I wasn't armed... Go figure.

  • @cactusairforcef6f

this was the first time I was ever pulled over by AZ highway patrol.. of course it was in the middle of town on a regular street, lol

  • It would make me a bit uncomfortable too if the officer drew my firearm, whether it was in my pocket or whatever, I think it's better to just let it be where it is. I guess I can see where they're coming from though, wanting maximum safety for themselves and control of the situation. Haven't been in that situation myself yet.

  • So when he pulled the firearm he unloaded it?

  • @MrSuperfrog6

well he did that at his car I guess, I didn't see him do it

  • Here in NC if we are pulled over the first thing we are suppose to do is inform the office that we have a concealed carry permit and that we have a concealed weapon. Our permits are also connected to our license plate so when the officer runs the tag it will come back that the owner of the vehicle is a concealed carry holder.

  • @capman911 I live in AZ too,not in tucson, but ive always thought our plates here were connected with ccw info too.

  • Love the joke at the end

  • Are you willing to say what the ticket was for?

  • @evilbunnyreviews

it's not relevant just a vehicle issue that will be corrected easily

  • remember...as long as u dont carry ur nunchucks!! ur ok

  • @7972david

It would have gone down a lot differently if that was the case...

  • just from knowing a couple cops and talking to them about people carrying it seems like if you would have showed them the ccw they would have let you go because you have to be approved for that where the constitutional carry there is no class so they probably went and run the gun to make sure it was hot. my g pa got pulled over and he handed him both cards and the cop said are you carry and my g pa said yes and he said ok and told him his tailight was out and let him go.

  • Let the cop pull the gun out. Have the chance of him shooting you. You pull the gun out and have another cop shoot you . Scary situation either way.

  • Live in Memphis Tn, was pulled over once. Showed officer my DL and he saw my HCP licence. Officer says, sir do you have your handgun on you? At the time I did not. I said officer I do not have it on me today. He said..." sir you ought to." He ran my DL, gave it back to me and said " sir have a great day and slow it down."

    ONLY IN THE SOUTH!!

  • I don't understand why he took your gun and then gave it back to you unloaded. Sounds a bit like an unjustified seizure of property, even if it was only temporary.

  • I was stopped for expired state inspection. Here in VA if you have a permit you don't have to say so when you get pulled so I didnt. When she came back with my info and my ticket she told me it would be a good idea if I did next time because some cops tend to be a bit jumpy when they run you and it pops up.

  • I had one of Phoenix' Finest stop me on a dirt road (out in BFE). He never asked me if I had any weapons, but the answer was obvious when he asked me if I was going shooting. Turn out my favorite shooting spot got annexed by Phoenix a couple years ago and is now in the city limits. Now I'm a good citizen and I go to Ben Avery or Shooter's World.

  • @TheVarianWrynn

I know what it's like here in Tucson with all our good shooting spots being lost. I can only imagine how much worse it must be for you up in Phx

  • so if the ccw is optional do you have if because you travel out of state?

  • @kniedelm

for lots of reasons really, but that is a big one, yes

  • @chats

How would the cop know your a criminal until he has identified you and asked if your carrying?

  • Good video and sounds like all went well. I think that it was correct procedure for the officer to remove the firearm from your pocket himself, police generally do not like anyone pulling a firearm out on their own around them.

  • @StayingFr0sty

I know.. It was just kinda weird.. no one has ever pulled anything out of my pockets before let alone my gun

  • Grown up conversation, thanks for that!

    Trollers be gone.

  • Do the Police in AZ have the legal right to disarm a noncriminal citizen?

  • @ChatsworthATVRentals

    yes, during the traffic stop

  • @Chriznak

that has to be the lamest theory I've heard yet.. keep that kind of thing to yourself.. really

  • @GunWebsites heh yep... he kind of forgot about state and local law didn't he.

  • here in nc when you are pulled over you are required to give your ccw with your dl. i have been pulled over many times and they just ask if you are carrying.

  • whats the point in taking your firearm from you???....brainwashing

  • In Michigan, which is an open carry state, I have had my cpl for about 6 years. I get my license, registration and insurance out with my cpl. I turn my dome light on at night, and keep my hands on the wheel. As soon as he says how are you or you know why I stopped you I politely tell him "Doing good, thanks, hope you're the same, I have to inform you I have a cpl and legal weapon in the vehicle." They ask where's it at, I tell them on my hip, in a holster and I haven't gotten a ticket since.

  • Your a. Big deal???

  • @noblinger

    pretty much

  • When I took my Arizona CCW class about 8 years ago (didn't have to retake it to renew) they told as that by law we had to notify the officer upon a traffic stop that we had our firearm with us. Has that changed since or were they wrong?

  • @Chriznak i'd carry legally where possilble, thats just me though

  • @moicus29 2nd amendment says all forms of carry are legal. that's just the constitution though. it's so old, it doesn't really matter anymore.

  • @moicus29 yes but that old document isn't going to stop some liberal lawyer from calling you a demon and throwing you in jail, you have to insulate yourself from them when possible, they have all the power now, atrocious but true

  • Both oligarch and tyrant mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of their arms.

    Aristotle

  • you should have told him you were nutnfancy!

  • I got pulled over by a state police (speed trap) And I told the cop I hand a weapon and he just asked if I had a permit and I said yes. Then to my surprise he said come back to my car I want to write you ticket I sat in his car with my pistol and he even let me have a smoke and just wrote the ticket out never checked my permit just took my word for it.

  • Nice video most were cool with me when I got pulled over...9 speeding tickets

  • Most time in texas you show ccw with id they dont touch the gun or run the numbers

  • What did they say about the hooker in the passenger seat.

  • @URBANAMERICANTAC

.. don't think he saw her

  • lol "even when your a big deal on the internet" its funny because u are

  • You should have told him your a big deal on the internet, people know you!

I always tell the cops that I don't consent to searches and I don't allow them to ever handle my firearms. Regardless of their policies you have the right to maintain control of you property period, unless your being arrested.

  • @TheHossUSMC awsome. county cop stopped my buddy for open carrying and my buddy just quoted ORC to him til he went away. guy had to check his laptop to see if he was right, but at least he didn't demand that my friend hand his weapon over, so that was kinda cool

  • open carry in michigan~ its so dumb to carry open giving away the location of your deadly wepon

  • I've lived here for 3 years now and I have not been in that situation yet in this state but having a ccw permit as well I think you handled the situation the same way I would have.

  • i hate living in illinois....... permit for ccw is optional in arizona?

  • @whitefro771

    yup

  • i missed it, why did u get a citation?

  • @mreisma It sounded like a fix-it ticket. IE. Tinted windows, tail light burned out, etc.

  • @mreisma He didn't say. Just said it was something that would go away if he fixed it before the court date. I'm thinking expired tags or a busted tail light or something.

  • what if you say "NO you can't have my gun?"

  • @4everyong2

Can't see why I would say that.. unless the officer was doing something illegal

  • In Ohio I'm required by law to inform them right away that I'm carrying .

  • @JBall419 Also in OH, I'm pretty sure that the "duty to inform" clause in our laws was inserted at the behest of the Ohio Highway Patrol here. Thats what my CCW instructor (who also is a firearms instructor for police in my county and this part of OH) told me. he's actually not a big fan of them, kinda funny--the rivalry in Law Enforcement. Since my state requires me to inform, i would inform in any state even if the particular state didn't require it, cause i don't know each state's laws

  • Thank you for sharing this! -- It is a problem state-to-state because some do require you to immediately "fess up!"

  • "Constitutional Carry"... sounds like a fairytale from here in Maryland.

  • @busterbob24 pro-gun state does sound like luxurious living

  • @busterbob24

As of right now only 4 states have adopted "constitutional carry" , Alaska, Arizona, Vermont & Wyoming. Wyoming being the newest as of July 1, 2011. 10 states are currently considering "constitutional carry" which are Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Tennessee & West Virginia. While Montana, Oregon, Utah, & Virginia all had legislation that did not become law for one reason or another.

  • @jamesjr934

Sorry, I can't count... That's 11 states that are considering.

  • @busterbob24 From here in Germantown , MD its just a dream. I seriously doubt that we will ever see any form of "normalized " CCW here. You need to be either a documented threatened person or carry thousands in cash (and prove it) to even think about a Permit. And if they find out you stold a crayon in the 3rd grade, it's all over but that crying. The Maryland solution as I see it, is called MOVING. Sucks to be me!!

  • @busterbob24

lets all work to make this one come true for everyone !!!

  • @GunWebsites "Constitutional Carry"...sadly a fairy tale here in Texas of all places.

  • @busterbob24 im from Maryland also man. hopefully Chuck Jenkins pulls through with county issue permits :D

  • @gvspshooter

Oooo please tell me more. I'm really not on the ball with this stuff like I should be. I signed up with Maryland Shall Issue but it seems like such a lost cause. Send me a private message on here if you like.

  • @busterbob24 Join the NRA, and we may be that much closer.

  • @MavHunter20XX

I am with the NRA. :)

  • @busterbob24 Excellent, soon we may take over the world, er, secure 2nd amendment rights.

  • You were running whistle tips weren't you. *wooooo wooooo!!*

  • yeah, i can understand the worries for your leg
