  • COME ON!!!! Federer had a chance to beat him,he blew it. If he was better,he should have won in continuation of the match...

He's just having psychological issues because he thinks that he can be king of tennis forever.

His statements obviously show his hatred against Djokovic, but Federer is to nice for a turbulent reaction. He has probably beaten his wife at home, just to feel relief...

  • sour grapes

  • I love the start of this, when he's busy playing with his phone. "I never play that way, I always believed in the "hard work pays off" kind of thing" - dude, you think Novak hasn't been working hard since he was a child? Go away, already.

  • It would look better for him if he took a loss like a man and admitted other player's outperformance. I understand how disappointed he was and he could think like that but saying like this at the press conference doesn't seem like classic. As Djokovic said he was lucky but he played better and changed the flow of the game after that shot and that's why he won.

  • too arrogant. overrated. fedex. lost to novak. should retire. retire man!!!

  • @stefan130189 Novak repeats a retirement for a fool reason. The pain of a throat included. Roger wins a sportsmanship prize 7 times. ATP players' vote. calm always. fair paly. never gamesmanship

are you Edberg's fan. I am an Asian. I remember that Edberg made the racially discriminatory remark "tennis does not suit Asians"etc. In practice, possibly it was a uglier expression. arrogant shame truely. Although Roger is not perfect. He is a player who should be evaluated most and is a great person

  • roger did not insult novak nor did he take novak's play down. roger lost unluckily though the win was so close. oh my god, let him be angry! should he be happy for novak to be in the final? that is bullshit. you play sports for two reasons. first of all because you love the game and its magic and secondly because you want to win. to play very well and to lose then is the hardest defeat you can face. I can unterstand that. it is just horrible. Roger is still a gentleman and champion!

  • the djokerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • He is by far the sorest loser, no one takes a loss as bad as he does. Nadal is second. Murray third. Djoker takes it well, credits his opponent.

  • @thisnamealsotaken lol. how many times. retire for likely lose. it is sore loser really. excuse retire again again again

  • I understand Roger's decline. age. family. kids. The fall of motivation. However, this is Federer's worst game. On all the careers of his. Roger lost the game which can win. I do not want to see this again.

  • @serbianpupil right. arrogant. When likely lose game. excuse retire for lose. How many times Djokovic do. And arrogant cocky dance. too noisy annoying always. etc.

Roger Federer. voted the tennis fans' favorite for the 9th straight year won. The Sportsmanship Award, voted for by ATP players, for a 7th time. both record. what joke Djokovic.

    arrogant Djokovic fan. asshole

  • @serbianpupil And you are arrogant stupid blind Djokovic's fan. asshole

  • Comment removed

  • The reporters were all Djoker fans rubbing it in. Painful, painful, painful...to see all your hard work in shreds right in front of you. Hurts like a biatch.

  • @blueeyedwebby LOL. hey Nadal's arrogant and blind fan.

Nadal said. " to watch a Sampras versus Ivanisevic match. or one between those kind of players, is not enjoyable. It's not really tennis. it is a few swings of the racquet. For me in the past it was just serve. serve"

    arrogant smug.

clay excluded. successive win 0. If grass and a hard are fast. Like Sampras era. Nadal is able to win only with clay. power of defense and muscles. boring ugly. All the surface is slow now. SICK.

  • Roger is not good for Novak

  • "How disappointing is it..." tbh the first questions were pretty fucking stupid..

  • @slykovsky you sound like a jealous troll ,Novak didn't "wipe" the floor with roger during the end of the match Roger started rushing when he had match points, listen to the commentray they say it,and you can clearly see he was rushing ,Novak pulled the trigger on that match point and came of with a winner, last match point good serve could've put it away but failed to do so ,99% of the time Roger would've got that winner ,don't troll on here when Roger played a better match than rafa did ,

  • Dislike means something else on this page !

  • This is hard, you have to face reporters and explain why you did what you did? is there any other individual sport that forces you to do that? ---- That forehand return will follow him forever and ever.

  • Stupid arrogant Federer. Always Excuses

  • @juansa74 Obviously you're a Djokovic fan. Sorry to tell you but Roger is saying that it happens in sports, he wasn't making excuses, and he was right, he did play bad at the end. And if you want excuses, go look at your precious Djokovic. Couldn't even grant Murray a clean victory in Cincinnati. Djokovic is the definition of a pussy.

  • @Sundin456 Pussy? Lol, he said that he could play till the end, but it makes no sense because he wants to be fit for the US Open. I think that's clever when you think about that he could have left the US Open while playing till the end and making the insult even worse. That's not a pussy and you obviously won't respect the new number 1.

  • @serbianpupil I won't respect the new number 1 because he fucks the air after winning point always pounds on his chest, and that stupid dancing after beating Federer? Djokervic totally takes the class out of Tennis. And I'm pretty sure he would of been fit for the US Open if he played the extra hour.

  • @Sundin456 Haha, yes,if it was like you imagine, you could write tennis history in your way.It is how it is and you're jealous, that's it.Guess who asked him to dance?Of course the interviewer and he wouldn't have done this if he hadn't asked him before. Guess who concratulate his opponents when they hit a great winner? Yes, it's Djokovic and Federer is too arrogant to do this.Well,Djokovic shows his emotion and that's why he pounds on his chest. He deserves respect cuz he was injured but still won.

  • @serbianpupil Pounding your chest like a gorilla isn't emotion it's cockiness. If you had any Tennis intelligent you would know that Federer is the most generous player on the tour. And no Djokovic was not injured he was faking, AS USUAL. He retires every match he can't win. And it was obvious Federer gave him that match. As he has been giving everyone the past year. P.s 2007 Federer woulda ended him in an hour.

  • Comment removed

  • @serbianpupil when djokovic does that little clap when they hit a winner it's not because he is congratulation his opponent he's doing it in a condescending manner he's never smiling or anything when he does it it's like he saying it's nothing but lucky

  • @serbianpupil if you know him you're too close to see since you most likely worship the ground he walks on

  • @9tails23 Well, I don't get you. Of course I'm a Djokovic fan. Well, everyone knows that Federer is the greatest player of all time, that's not a question. But he could have shown more respect for his opponent who was injured and his performance capability was about 70-80 %. If you can beat Federer with an injury, then you must be great. Djokovic did, he's great. I don't disrespect Federer, but the way he bahaves is questionable!

  • @serbianpupil I applaud your respect for both players, but c'mon, Djokovic was not injured when he played Federer. Don't make it sound like Djokovic can beat Federer with just 80% of his capability, because that is just a ridiculous statement.

  • @ivansofun Alright, look at the injury in Cincinatti! He had an injury since the semi finals in Cincinatti and finally gave up the match against Andy Murray. You know what he has said after his win in New York? I'm just glad I could somehow win the US Open. My shoulder hurts and I don't want to risk anything again. But I had to play because it was a big tournament, a major. After Serbia was 2:1 down against Argentine, they thaught Djokovic with 60 % performance capability is better than Troicki!

  • @serbianpupil I know Djokovic was injured in Cincinatti, but I still don't believe he was injured for the entire US Open. I honestly don't believe Djokovic's level of play dropped when he played against Federer or Nadal in the US Open.

  • @ivansofun Lol, did you see Djokovic's serve in the fourth set against Nadal? It was about 150 kilometres per hour. When he played against Federer, he had an average first serve of 170-180!

  • @serbianpupil WIth an average first serve speed of 170-180 against Federer, why do you still believe that Djokovic was injured in the semi then? Where did you get the 150 km/hour stats? You must also take into account that players cannot possibly maintain their average serve speed for the entire match. It is normal that they get tired and so will their serving speed. Don't think only Djokovic's serve speed drops after three sets.

  • @ivansofun Why the fuck Djokovic said that he was injured, why the fuck, why the hell? Why are you such a stubborn? Why the hell!? Why the fuck, why the hell couldn't he use his powerfull back and forehand? Why the fuck, why the hell? Why the fuck I think you're from Yugoslavia and that's why you're so stubborn and just think that all is true what you say!? Why the hell did he say that he was injured, why the hell????????????? Explain me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @serbianpupil You also said that Federer is disrrespectful because he doesn't congratulate good shots from opponents like Djokovic but that is a ridiculous statement. Novak has good sportsmanship for clapping, but that DOES NOT mean that players who don't congratulate an opponent in the middle of a game is disrespectful. If that were the case, then majority of the players have no sportsmanship. ALSO, for the record, Federer won the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award which is voted by atp players

  • @ivansofun he won the award several times and he won it again this year in 2011

  • @9tails23 Completely agree. His applause is always sarcastic to reflect his view that the opponent was lucky and i would like someone to pull out a statistic of how many times Djokovic has grabbed a knee, elbow , shoulder or arm when things suddenly aren't going his way in a match. When he's winning its all good and then when things go the other way, he pulls out the Murray/ Nadal playbook. PATHETIC! His luck will run out soon!

  • @bumper212, <---- Retard. Federer's been doing those return shots all his life. Fool.

  • @serbianpupil, No, maybe YOU became jealous of his success, fool.

  • @TheRafaelBond lol asshole. Arrogant Cheater's fan

  • To put it plain and simple - Novak wiped the floor with Roger with that matchpoint return (and the way he played in the following 3 games). Roger had his chances but could not capitalize on them or should I say was not allowed to capitalize on them and the better player won - the change of guards as they say. Some comments Roger made after the match were very low class but hey, it's not the first time he's done it - after all everyone knows that he is a very sore loser...

  • Tbh, the more I watch this the more I think everybody is blowing it out of proportion. Djokovic called his own shot a "gamble" so is Fed not allowed to call it lucky? He gives credit to Novak. You just have to pay attention. He's saying it's disappointing to lose to someone who he thought was out of it mentally. I've seen pros do this before. If they don't believe they can win anymore at a certain point in the match they just rip everything and hope it goes in. That's all Fed is saying.

  • @Steve0904 Great understanding of the interview Steve. (unlike most here) I was watching this match live and just like all Fed fans it was quite disappointing to see him lose. Though seeing him live was priceless !

  • I thought djokovics forehand winner on the matchpoint was the greatest shot in the match. Or better yet - the greatest of US Open 2011! And what does Federer say: "Maybe he's been doing it for 20 years". Djokovic for president! Cheers!

  • It's true what Roger says about how he should've won this match 2 sets up ,2 match points but what i don't agree on is the "lucky" shot comment ,yes it was probably a roll the dice shot but Novak pulled it of lucky or not, ilove Roger Federer and i think he should've said some of the stuff he had a great us open tournament bit unlucky he didnt win in the semis but his proven that even if he is on the decline his still good enough to win another slam :)

    GO ROGER 2012 BABY :)

  • he came back he play well and fuckt me!!!!! ;)

  • pathetic fed

  • F(P)EDERER

  • The "F" on his hat stands for "FUCKED" - by Novak Djokovic... xD

  • People focus on him sounding like a "sore looser" But in FIRST TWO MINUTES of interview he answers it all "he came back. HE PLAYED WELL, i didn't play so well at the very end." He also says of the french that Novak could have won that match. He says we watch sports for the uncertain outcome. RF is great and IS HUMAN, having the right to be pissed off for that loss. He never bad mouthed Novak, but does he have to praise him?

  • @morgan699 then again, see how he reacted 3 sec afther his RG 2011 matchpoint against Djokovic. And be corretced

  • NOLE!!!! SRBIJA!!!

  • I understand Roger's decline. A decline of age. Family. Kids. The fall of motivation.

However, This game is the worst game for him. In all the careers of Roger. Roger lost the game which can win. I do never want to see it again.

  • @andsportsify What makes it worse is that I honestly think it was an amazing match, they were both hitting so hard and attacking. So when I want to watch some good tennis I look up this match.

Every time that it gets to the matchpoints for Federer I'm thinking: Nahh I can't believe he loses this.. he can't seriously lose like this. But every single time that i watch the vid, he loses.. I know it's stupid, but this loss was, and still is, very difficult for me to take.

  • While Federer may have the record for majors won, does he also have the record for major finals lost?

  • @ctoth666 well atleast he looses with dignity in the final unlike nadal who loses before

  • Roger why, has 2 SET UP and 2 MP. You are getting old.. Roger

  • Comment removed

  • Roger lost because of that "lucky shot" and also because he lost 3 sets.

  • @federerbestcIass Too annoying always. fake time-out. fake take time. ugly gamesmanship. Cheater. Arrogant unsportsmanlike.

very very loved. Cocky, Annoying Djokovic is kicks, arrogant cheaters Nadal's ass again. 6 finals. LOL

  • looks down on great past players nadal always. arrogant. smug. overrated. most annoying player. sucks

  • Nah, he was just djoking

  • @djuxonyMontenegro ti piča jedna

  • Djokovic will never be considered as a tough competitor due to his retired matches.

  • Surprisingly, the "great man" was graceless and dismissive at the post-match press conference, describing it as a “lucky shot”. There is nothing surprising about this - Federer has always been classless and graceless in defeat. I still get the shivers at one of the all time greatest shots in the history of forever...

  • @spidpower He was pretty humble a few years back, but ever since Nadal knocked him off the number one spot and his level of play started to decline Federers ego started to become more evident. I'm a big fan of his game, he is the greatest player of all time, and I still prefer Federer over any other player on court, off court however he is becoming more and more irritating these days.

  • hahahahaha smradino svajcarska !!!!!

  • djokovic annoying

  • This match was eerily similar to the FO semifinals...except Novak was playing better tennis then! I'm unbiased towards either player but it's clear that when Federer plays without pressure Djokovic still can't stack up to him. This shouldn't be encouraging to sensible Djokovic fans because Federer's lvl. had to plummet in order for Djokovic to win. If Fed wants to win again, it's still within his control.

  • Federer is showing a new face. He is a champion but he is not a gentlemen any longer. Probably he never was he was just pretending. Now his true face is coming out and it does not look pretty. Shame!

  • mater ti jebem smrdo....razbio te....kao pikizu.....sad pricas kao neka baba....pizdi i mrzi ga....to je sve sta mozes da uradis....slino.....P.S. Milka is like a Milka chocholate cow....fat...ugly...and from Swiss...give her a surname...Federer....u unproffesional dirtbag...4 times he kicked U'r ass!!! NOLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEE

  • @djuxonyMontenegro TAKO JE, MAJSTOREEE!!!

  • Federer clearly still has the game to be #1....but he lost the confidence to be #1.....lost the confidence when it counts on the big points in the slam finals.............lost the confidence to beat Nadal.............he needs Brad Gilbert

  • 2 set up. 2MP

  • He does realise he had 2 match points right?

  • ok maybe i was wrong to pidgeon hole you but I think u must be pretty ignorant not to see Fed being arrogant and self-righteous in this interview. Instead of crying about how lucky Djoker is, "playing like a kid", why not praise him for the initiative and balls for attempting such shots? Also he scoffs at reporters questions several times when the questions appear to be very normal and something he should be used to by now but instead he reacts like a cry baby.

  • As I said there is a massive double standard. For the current world number one, somehow his crazy returns HAS TO BE LUCK yet if Federer does it I guarantee you everyone would talk about how great and legendary he is

  • @ElSpewtardo no, federer would openly admit that he got a lucky shot. unless he does it repeatedly.

  • @vinnolee13 im not saying what Federer would say, Im saying what the media and spectators would say.

  • @ElSpewtardo why put so much premium on what the media and the spectators would say? put premium on what the players says and does.

  • @vinnolee13 im talking about the obstacles Djoker has to overcome on the whole. Not only does he have Fed criticising his play after the match but he has to justify to the media/spectators that he is the real deal because there are an abundance of Federer fanboys in denial out there, yourself included...

  • @ElSpewtardo lol that's where you have it wrong. people these days read a few comments and think they know everything about the person. dont' be stupid. i'm not denying that federer lost or that he deserved to win. what i'm saying is that the controversial shot was a lucky one, and that federer rightly felt that he could have won that match in that play, but he didn't. nothing arrogant or belittling about that.

  • I'll always prefer Nadal for his grace, dignity and respect for the opponent...Federer is way too arrogant and stuck up,therefore not great sportsman.

  • @mothidentifier grace, dignity and respect for the opponent? that guy fist pumps and glares across the net whenever he fails to retrieve a ball. i don't see any grace, dignity, and respect for in that.

and for all the haters out there, perhaps you should listen closely to what Roger said. he even referred to his win in the French Open, saying that that could have gone either way. He admits he can lose. He just doesn't sugarcoat it like the others.

  • @vinnolee13 I was talking about NADAL behaviour at Press conference. Read Guardian article on this Federer's Press Conference, it sums it all up.

  • @mothidentifier too annoying player. fake time-out always. cheater. gamesmanship.

Nadal said. "to watch a Pete Sampras versus Goran Ivanisevic match. or one between those kind of players, is not enjoyable. It's not really tennis. it is a few swings of the racquet. It was less eye-catching than what we do now. everyone enjoys the tennis we play much more. I am not saying we are playing better tennis. just more enjoyable tennis. For me in the past it was just serve. serve. serve" SUCKS

  • @overratednadal so Nadal can't speak the truth? Its true. You get 2 big servers and its a servathon. I bet he never knocked a Sampras Agassi match tho
