    I will revisit the themes of change and the debilitating effects of fear in organizations. I have some other things I want to do first though.

    Top priority right now is translating Tempo!, my business strategy book, into English. I intend to take a break from translating to do one or two more videocasts and at least one more issue of my newsletter.

  • My experience is that mistakes are rewarded, but in a perverse way. That is, the guilty are rewarded and the innocent punished. That's the beauty of a modern bureaucracy: blame can be assigned administratively rather than factually!

    I agree that it is often the guilty that are hunted down and punished.

    From my point of view, assigning blame is (almost always) worse than useless. It makes the system as a whole worse. Everyone learns to thread very carefully, and to be very risk averse. This makes it very difficult to innovate and collaborate.
