  • Good video, I also learned how important it is to have good fitness. Ever since June, I have managed to cut my weight down from 211 to 175lbs. So lately, I had been watching Federer's forehand in a match he had against Andy Roddick in 2007; it may have been the best form I have seen Roger in ever. I aimed to reproduce some of his follow-throughs and noticed how much more power I can get in my forehand from being lighter and forcing my bodyweight into and over the ball with a 180 degree turn.

  • Federer/Roddick Highlight:

  • i use an eastern forehand grip (search "roger federer's forehand grip" by fyb2007 on youtube, thats the eastern forehand grip i use) and i cant seem to get enough topspin at times. i hit neutral stance, laid back wrist, and i'm short (5'4.5" approx.) so about 30%-40% of the forehands i hit are from shoulder up (i play a good amount of dinkers and lobbers)

  • you got to close the face on it and accelerate over it to generate the topspin, look at slow motion roger fed it's tzu? or something or other...

  • Hey man, what grip do you use? Thanks for the video!

  • semi-western grip
