Half the teams comming into the old garden were already beat as they only thought of getting out with their skins (Like Minny until that historical fight night). What a time to be a Bruins fan!

Back in the 60s,70s,and 80s they had many bench emptiers.The Bruins and Flyers never had one during the regular season.Do you know why?The Flyers were scared shitless of the Big Bad Bruins.

O'Reilly was a buzz saw wasn't he? No one like him in hockey anymore. He'd be suspended for a year for going in the stands. That was a common occurrence in the 70s and 80s. Great video. Great teams in those days. Boy do I miss real hockey!!

I actually played with Stan Johnathan in the minors (IHL Dayton Gems) He was always able to throw his punches well with both hands. He used to workout in the weight room and bench press up to 425. He also trained on the speed bag. He was small in height but was like a sparkplug. I spoke to him around 5 months ago and he is coaching Indian kids playing ice hockey in his native indian reservation.

There was a little pushing after the game near the boards and a fan reached over grabbed a stick and tried to hit T.O`RIELLY and the rest is history!BAD MOVE,LOL!

actually it was a fan up on the dasher who hit Jonathan with a right and tried to steal his stick. O'Reilly saw it and climbed into the stands to grab the guy and when other ranger fans went after O'Reilly thats when the rest of the team went in. :)
