@MollyKopy Metal conducts electricity better at lower temperatures, so this would actually work better than just using an empty plastic waterbottle or something. The electirc tape blocks the water from shorting the wires out. I hope that helped, I'm not sure exactly which part you were wondering about...

I did this as a little kid much more simply... I took a water balloon and filled it with water. I then placed a glowstick in the waterballoon and asked my mom to tie it up. Put the balloon in the freezer. In the morning, take the balloon part off and voila!

Set them out in the cold, battery side hidden of course, and let them go till the batteries run down which should last a good long time seeing LEDS don't use a lot of juice. I got here from the Make Glowing Water video. And it was much simpler than that. Take the fuzzy thing out of a highlighter and soak it in water, then pour the water into some more water and then freeze that. wouldn't it glow just the same?
