@fairlyfastfreddie1 It looks like the object on the neck of the guitar is a camera with a fish eye lens. It gets used for the shot at 1:10 onwards. Paul came out with Daryl and John Oates when we saw them live at A Day on the Green concert in Melbourne. Very good!
@LollyLouLa Thanks Lolly! I just like the way he phrased his licks - not overstated like so many guitarists today. Harry's right though, he could have plugged in a little more reverb. The Super Reverb was meant for just that. I don't know what the complaint is about the drummer. He's doing just what he's supposed to - support the band and keep a steady beat. My wife, who sang for years, used to complain about "busy" drummers. Fine on solos, but the rest of the time just keep the beat.
These guys were all getting wood playing this tune with Booker T. How many chances does one get to play a song they loved from their youth with the guy who made it famous?
i had the 45 of this and i played it so often that i wore out the record. Here I am @ 58 and I still can't help snapping my fingers and dancing. Real talent and great music never die.
We're only three weeks into the New Year. If nothing else happens, this performance made my year. Tell me they don't @ other like two peas in a pod. Great music transcends time.

In 1967 when this song first came out, it was played all over am radio in those days. Booker T&the M.G were a mixed race music group simular the the American Breed&some others as well lol!!!!!!!!!!!
Daryl...hope you read this...been listening to you and the mix of musicians you hang with forever...I even saw them on SNL...Keep doing what your doin, when I pick up my six string I pretend I jam with you...you inspire and bring happiness to my and my friends life, as well as my gfs life in that inspiration...wink wink you know what I mean...lol...jam on Daryl. Keep the jams comin and may you have happiness and blessings on your end.
@willwelsh816 ..nope I think it was the drummer, I heard that he was shot coming home late one night, and his wife thought he was an intruder..(I live in Memphis)...think his name was Al Jackson...
Booker T doesn't need synth back up. Good musicians know when to hold off. Its green onions.... its like playing rhythm guitar with jimi hendrix.....unnecessary.
thes guys are just having a blast! nothing like true music!
Play this song in any mall, party, bowling alley..don't matter..gotta get up and groove!
