Too bad this story did not include the other big story on how the original LA Angels had Los Angeles stolen from them by the Dodgers at the same time the people from Chave ravine were ripped off. Many don't realize that professional baseball was played in Los Angeles since 1892.
I have covered MLB since 1983 and didn't know about this until around 2007. I have been in Dodger Stadium as a journalist many times and had some of the best times of my career there covering baseball but honest to God I would trade ALL of that every bit of it if we could go back and give the people of Chavez Ravine
their homes back it's heartbreaking they'll all be blessed one day from their loss.
My mother is the woman in the hat - Cenovia Madero - I was there when they interviewed her and remember her stories she used to tell us about Chavez Ravine - I have the book that these guys are looking at - I am a Dodger Fan and always will be - and it's not the Dodgers fault that the City lied to the residents at Chavez Ravine! My mother passed away on 2/5/04 - God Bless You Mama!
Thank you Guad for shedding light on this forgotten or perhaps hidden of chicano history. My family amongst many others who lived in Chavez Ravine meet annually each July at Elysian park to commemorate and keep the spirit of family alive. It would be great to have you there! Thanks again for the video!
Sad but true story. My aunt Sally told it how it was.

Some of My Family history in LA began on Solano Av. I also knew a guy who grew up in the neighborhood known as "La Loma".

the band called CR is so cool and it's when american pop was headed somewhere really great.
they have really cool songs. "poor man's shangrila" and "muy fifi" are two great ones.
