Love this tune. Love this band. What set them apart from the hair bands was their material - universal themes as opposed to party/babe tunes. Ritchie S. is one of the most underrated guitar players in rock.

@DANNEGREANU1 The reason Richie switches guitars is simply because for the solo if you look, right before he goes to the higher part, he flicks the treble/rhythym switch to give him a deeper sound. The guitar he uses at the beginning doesn't have that switch. And at 0:21 it's the only break where he can switch so that's why he switches there:)

@DANNEGREANU1 no man. Bon Jovi plays all their stuff in Eb tuning when they play live it's easier to play in that tuning for a lot of people. The tuning is all same. The guitar he switches to is his own signature model if you look at the top it actually says Sambora there so he litterly probably just preferes playing it. And i know he switches at 21 seconds in but in this song that's the only time he can switch.

I can't believe what I'm reading! Jon's voice is better now than in the ealier days - thats bullshit. Since about 2000 Jon's voice has changed due to what I think is either the smoking or just a general mid life voice break. I'm a huge Bon Jovi fan as in I've heard everything they have ever done and I defo know that he can't hit the high notes like he used to and can't do the screams he used to either. He's the king but his voice was better before 2000!!!!

Jon finally learned how to keep his mouth open while singing this song live! If you take a look at some of the live performances of this song from a decade or two ago, he'll be kinda muffled, as if he was speaking with his hand cupped over his mouth, and you can hardly make out the lyrics.
