  • You're very enthusiastic! Unfortunately, this thing is little more than a seat belt. The seat offers little to NO protection for the child. You can fold the sides with 2 fingers. Why don't you address this issue, which is more important than comfort alone.

  • Latch is not the same as the tether. If your vehicle doesn't have a tethor anchor most dealers will install 2 for free. Latch has been on all vehicles since 2003 and tethers were before then ... so I doubt you'll find too many vehicles without the tether. If you buy this for your own vehicle, and happen to have a 90's vehicle that doesn't have a tether anchor than you can contact the dealer like I said - and they will put it in. In Canada it is illegal to use a seat without a tether.

  • @sahmommy2three in the US, they aren't required for use, so the minimum # is 3 in a vehicle... for newer vehicles... so some vehicles only have that number, some have more.

and of course, in europe, asia, etc... don't have tethers...

  • @KatMomof3 oh... and LATCh stands for Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children... even though the US only requires two full sets of if and a total of 3 top tethers in a vehicle.

  • @KatMomof3 Right, I know what LATCH stands for, but it appeared she was saying that some cars don't have a Tether ... which would not really be the case ... since the late 90's all cars have had TETHER anchors - I don't recall which year. I know Honda's have had them since the early 90's. It would be rare to not have a tether anchor... and if someone really wanted that seat it is easy to get one or more installed. And, I doubt there are too many pre-2000 taxis around when using one of those.

  • @sahmommy2three my car is a 1996 and DOSE NOT have a tether at all. but I just make sure my 2 little girls are in their seat good and tight, my one DD is 20months and still sitting Rear Facing and my 5 year old daughter is 62lbs and still 5 point harnessed in the Graco Natulis and loves it=) and the chest clip is at arm pit level and if it is not my daughter flips out lol

  • @jsrcamp Just take it to the dealer and they will add a top anchor for you for free. I had them added to my older vehicle. Some dealers aren't aware that they offer them free, and may try and charge you. Feel free to contact me if you need help and want the info from the manufacturers stating the billing codes so the dealers will know how to bill the company for the top tether.
