  • Natural beatBox....bump bump slep bump...

  • Everyone originated from Africa so stfu and stop le hating "bros"

  • This would have been much better if they haven't shat hiphop all over it!

  • Thats Why Korean Awesome in terms of Culture Because their Cultural Music was added a Modernized techniques like this canon in Hip Hop Version :D

  • This is my favorite song. In this version, the best part was from 1.44 till 2.00.

  • some of the comments said that the beat boxing doesn't suit well with gayageum sounds...but in my opinion it really suits well... i just hope that someone will produce this kind of mix to the Hallyu idol songs... :D

  • good

  • แม้งเฉง

  • nice

  • /watch?v=PtKtGAjDSGw canon rap

  • Even something as basic and fundamental to the national identity as language is interconnected. Chinese Japanese and Korea words share the same root (Chinese) while Korean and Japanese grammar is close to identical. At the end, there's really no point in trying to argue which came first when we are talking about cultures that are all 3000+ years old by anyone's standards.

Conclusion: Grow up and enjoy what you can, whatever the source. You didn't invent any of it anyway.

  • @glidingneedles I tip my hat to you sir. The wisest piece of writing i've seen in the whole comments section.

If we all go about trracing sources of culture and claiming it as our own, then modernity would have never existed. This video, all about mixing different genres of music would also have never existed. So let's just stop this stupid argument and enjoy the music.

  • All of you haters want to sound intelligent, but as Gandhi put it quite succinctly, "every time you point a finger at someone, three fingers are pointing right back at you."

The truth is, China, Japan and Korea heavily influenced each other. Cultural influence is not a one way street. Paper, for example, was invented in China but Koreans made changes to it and was thus reversely imported back in to China. You can say the same thing about current inventions.

  • Point of the video was to show how traditional and modern cultures can be fused to create something pretty pleasant. There's actually bboying in the full version of the video.

Kayageum is a Korean instrument, although it is an adaptation of a similar Chinese instrument. Not sure if there was Japanese influence in its design but either way, the base model is Chinese.

Winner writes history - most things we know are from a Western/Japanese point of view.

  • nicely played but the hip hop was quite a bit overdone... the beat was fine with the gayageum but then they had to ruin it with beat boxing... i mean i have nothing against beat boxing but it just didn't match well with the gayageum. I've seen better fusion... hip hop with this is a great idea, just not done right... but that's just my opinion...

  • This was obviously from the advert with the beatboxing and djing- to say that the hiphop added nothing would be defeating the whole purpose. The advert was about bringing all those elements together to create a new experience. Yes the gayageum is a beautiful instrument, and sounds amazing on its own, but you say that on a gayageum-only performance. This one in particular, even if this clip shows only the instrument, is based on the fusion.

  • the hip hop noise ruined the whole musical experience and intricacies of the 3 Gayageum.

  • It seems quite similar to mongolian Yatga.

  • @EngrishExpert Stop beign stupid. The japanese KOTO was introduced in Japan by China. Don't say what you don't know.

  • this is not japanese~~~~~~~~~~

  • gtfo, It's a Korean-Made instrument. When Japan came and raided Korea, they basically took the instrument as their own. Stop trying to take the Korean people's stuff, Japan.

  • @EngrishExpert RIGHt! Lol im not even korean and i feel bad for them. It would be ok if japan gave them credit or said thye got it from them. But all the articles that ive read usually say Japan adapted etc first. Nothing about korea starting it. The funny thing is i think North Korea are the only ones that have that 24 string one? Or is 28....

  • @EngrishExpert Actually, Gayageum is originated from Ming Dynasty (some scholars believe that it was Cho Dynasty) - then it was brought to Ancient Goryo of Korea, where it became hand pulled intruement. The original Chinese version uses bow to play the instruement.

  • @looxgood Are you fuking trying to tell me that guitar originated from violin?

  • @woo00154 Yes it did, look it up, it was violin was the original, then the lute, and now the guitar.

  • @EngrishExpert could always add chinese Guzheng and Se ^^

  • i love gayageum sound.............

  • asian rocks!

  • no it's a korean traditional instrument,

  • aren't the instruments called Koto? as far as i know.

  • The Gayageum and the Guzheng are very different instruments!!! The sound and way of playing is different too!!! would have been better without the hip hop though...

  • That's my sister wdf ... the very last one wtf for real

  • This song was made for the korea break dance commercial... This is just behind the scenes. Watch the other video and you will come to appreciate the song a lot more. (shows the beat boxer, DJ scratching, and break dancers)

  • scratch sound is annoying me ,, it too much :(

  • this is great am english but i admire the effort that they put in that...

i cant say nothing but W:oW thxxxxx

    i willlll suscribe........ GREAT STUFF

  • canon ?

  • This was fucking retarded.

  • The hiphop part sucks.

Those ladys are much better D:

    I love it.

  • Really Good Awsome *

  • Old Bach would probably get a kick out of this... esp in the bronx.... hahaa

  • @timothyj1966 Bach didn't write this, Pachelbel did.....noob

  • @timothyj1966 not..

  • amazing

  • the hip hop added nothing. would have been better with just 3 Gayageum playing.

  • @videochemist This appears to be just the video of the Gayaguem players performing their layer of the final video that is more commonly seen, but I think in total the piece works .

  • @videochemist hel no hip pop is the beast part

  • Arirang. They have a commercial with this.

  • rock!!!!

  • is there a different version without the beatboxing?

  • You guys should know that there is a music video to this..

    Last 4 One.

That's why theres the beat and everything

  • It started off great...then the beat ruined it!

  • how much better would have been without all that ridiculous nonsense in teh background. the nineties casio "hip-hop" element ruined this beautiful performance.

  • Oh lawds. Bitch Puhleeeeeese.

  • Their finger movement is sick, in my eyes its like they are moving at lights speed

  • koto is a less a few note than gu cheng.

  • its korean instrument not japanese.

  • @dahame no, it's Chinese!

  • @MarkNie1 its korean -_- its called ga ya geum. chinese look similiar but not the same man. get ur fact straight just cuz it look similar doesnt mean its from china or japanese. by saying its from china ur insulting our history

  • @MarkNie1 dude. this video is korean. so the instruments are also korean. :) Syp1002 is correct. its gayageum. look and sounded like guzheng. but anyway, they are all eastern instruments that westerns can't compare with. :)

  • @dahame There's a instrument like this in Japan too. It's called "KOTO".

  • triasthebetrayer le gusta los ninos simpaticos!

  • I'm not Japanese you ignorant buffoon. Who's the ignorant one now with all the cussing and what not.

  • if u have seen a koto b4 ud know that that is not a koto...thats a traditional korean instrument.

  • sorry, i didn't make myself clear LIKE the Japanese koto. and yes i have seen a koto. I helped carry one in for a concert.

  • wow, i think TriasTheBetrayer and chihakuryu get their facts right...

your little traditional korean insturment came from China! you fuckin retards! so obviously if Japan stole the idea, then Korea did as well, like they do for everything else...just steal other peoples' ideas and claim that they thought of it.

both the koto and the whatever korean instrument in this video came from the ACTUAL original instrument GuZheng

fuckin retards with their korean pride and what not.

  • kharakp needs to shut the hell up. evrything came from abunch of diff influences so if u wanna get all technical then ud hafto trace back to a long time ago. if its so horrible to 'steal' these ideas then china shudnt have invaded korea &shown them in the first place. china prolly got the idea frm some othr country before so china's wudnt be the 'actual original instrument' eithr u dumbass.

i am krn &ido hav krn pride &thers nuthin fuckin wrong withit. &evn if iwasnt id still think ur a retard

  • there is like 20 other versions i dont know why your being racist and putting these shit on youtube. you dont like it? fine w.e nobody cares about u. but dont put negative remark on someones youtube.korean didnt copy-_- you ppl thinks korean copied anyone. just because we been controlled by japan&china doesnt mean you guys can STILL shuve that in our face NOW. we are better and your stupid comment wont let us down

  • why?

  • What are those instruments called?

  • NO, It's Gayaguem

  • Oh is that the Korean Version?

    Thanks for the correction.

  • You are welcome. Always have a nice day :)

  • Google Guqin. =)

  • Nope

  • This "unz unz" version is adorable!!! Brave!!!!

  • DON'T SHOOT BLADES OR ZOMBIE WARRIORS AT ME!!!!!!!! - kung fu hustle...hey that was pretty cool, i could never synch like that.

  • Kung fu Hustle is lol :P

  • ...so kitsch...

  • 흠; 역시 한국인데??? 왠 아가리 걸레물고사는놈이 중국이라고 씨부리고다니네?????

  • hahaha I love it!

  • I think this would be much better with out all the F***ed up beat stuff in the background.

  • There is such a thing where one compliments another. The scratching and mixing was a distraction... nothing cool about it. If kept to a minimum, would've work'd. Is there a version of this without the beats?

  • dude beatboxing isnt limited to black people

  • wow the nicest version of Pachebel's canon I've ever heard yet!

  • anyone got this song i luv it T_T if have pls reply

  • I really like this. It is the most interesting version of Pachebel's canon I've heard yet!

  • are you really that stupid!

it's a hip hop mix so they may choose what they wanna put in it! dickface!

  • u do realize this is korean as in no black ppl involved

  • go korea yeah

  • IF U DON'T LIKE IT DON'T WATCH IT, you save a lot of time typing belive me =). It's better not 2 be a critic once a while and take a look at the mirror =)

  • badass. this aint a battle song but its great for a showcase. like every bboy beat doesnt need to be funk and fast to be tight. like this is hella dope to pratice yo toproks n footwork.

  • The song is called Cannon in D. It is by Pachebel. There is a really cool guitar version of this song. I actually have a playlist of this song with several versions.

  • beat box ;)

  • its the second video of the same song? whats the name of the instruments?

  • the instrument is called Gayageum

  • Thanks! =D

  • Geiler mix ,aber der Beatboxer ist wirklich Schrott...

  • esta demasiado bueno en realidad me encanta la fucion .....

    se la comieron.......

    algo nuevo con algo ansestral....

  • sounds like beat boxing

  • How are they a disgrace?

They turned a classic into something children of THIS generation can relate to in some ways more than others.

  • if you always cater to the tastes of the current generation, or western tastes (by playing canon) then you risk losing the greatness of the folk tradition. they're selling out to what's popular

  • Must we never venture out and explore the new? Or shall we simply go in circles of what is known to us... Experimentation is not selling out its part of the evolution of music. We can't play the same things all the time or we'll risk losing the greatness of what is novel.

  • canon is hardly new... I have no problem with experimentation - but canon is the opposite of experimentation. The 25 string gayageum can play any western music - of course canon - but by choosing canon they are choosing a song that is guarunteed to get a positive response, because canon is very popular in korea. If they used the traditional gayageum and played a traditional song - like sanjo - it would have been much more daring - as most koreans don't know anything about those things.

  • They aren't just playing Canon they are mixing it up with hip hop and creating something new. If they used the traditional gayageum and played a traditional song... what do you get? something traditional. Especially these days music is evolving and changing very rapidly not always better but still interesting. Like rock and hip hop collaborating, now its an old classic and hip hop... why not? It sounds great and obviously caters to the attention of the young. That's what they were aiming for.

  • I liked it till the guy started spitting and grunting and shit lol.

  • thats called beat boxing

  • this is awesome!

  • jinkis4, ur making fun of Koreans, ur one of those who use our language, and then make fun of it. u should be ashamed.

  • this video rocks! Fusion between east and west, past and future modern hip-hop.

  • song

Canon in D (Breakdance Remix) - Lee Changyui

  • totaly kewlll AZNS ROCKZ!!!!!!! =D Woot

  • these are cool :P

  • it more closely resembles the chinese zheng because they wanted to change the traditional 12 string gayageum to be able to play all western notes and play harmony, so they made that 25 string monstrosity

  • dayum seriuously though you definitely need skills to play that instrument look how long it is you need a long arm and good reach good job ladies keep on doing it KOREA!

  • Konishuaaaaaaaaaaa

  • its konichiwa dick head racist bastard

  • Just in case anyone is interested, they are playing on a gayageum. It is a Korean string instrument. Sookmyung is the women's college where they started the orchestra. If you are interested in purchasing music by the orchestra, do a google search and you should be able to find some places that sell their CD.

  • they look like elotez grandez

  • hahahah!!! ur funny!!! but yea they do look like grandez elotes

  • hey sup you like this beat? have you heared the rap one?
