  • now, i want to know why, in this theory, only touch and sound are addressed. If these things are truly within us and not in the outer world, which, according to this is only our perception, then why can we feel these things. Why can a person who is blind still feel objects ,made up of this matter...that can not be only in our minds.

  • I think they only talk about touch and sound for the sake of brevity. Obviously ALL of the senses work in the same way, i.e. - electrical impulses sent to our brains.

    The material, external world is not un-real, but it's illusory in the sense that it's like a dream. It doesn't have a permanent existence. It's temporal, ephemeral and in constant flux.

    BTW, is this "mollysm130" from my art education class? If so, send me a message on FB and I'll try to explain this more. Not enough room here.
