I'm from Hong Kong. Actually the Chinese and English versions are more or less the same thing.

Each sentence is direct translated. Except for "我和你, 心連心,同住地球村", which means "You and me, linking heart, living in the Village Earth."

The song is even better than "Hand in Hand" of Seoul 88.

kenchow90// well, the predilection of the songs are different for each person. But, I personally think that Hand in Hand was better in content. (the lyric meaning.) I think the lyrics in the song gave us the feeling of a will to unify as a whole, in korean perspective, unify as a whole korea, not south or north korea.

Anyways, I thought that the beijing song was great too. I Loved the rhythm but, I thought that context,lyric, was little bit ... lacking...

Thank you for your reply. The content of an interview about the selection of the theme song can be found in the same video uploaded by dearteacher. It says that the selection of this song is becoz of its simplicity and purity, which I think all of us agree and enjoy.

I agree that Hand in Hand is a richer song. But if every theme song is the very similar one to that, it'll be a little bit dull. I still believe this simplicity is much more touching and, most importantly, contemplable.
