  • @vgrzen and bl00zjamma: you must be taught by somebody who knows what they are doing, the form is useless without the first 2 forms and you must figure it out for yourself for the most part, application will almost never look like technique

  • that very close to wong shen long version

  • - Por lo menos son buenos en la teoria...

  • No one has yet answered my question as to how the biu je technique as demonstrated here can do any harm, or specifically break a wrist. What is the exact way to apply it? Don't just tell me that it can. SHOW me or tell me the EXACT way that it can. Because it looks very weak. Don't just deny - EXPLAIN! Please!!

  • @bl00zjamma I believe waving hands is just to train and condition your wrists. When we punch or palm strike in wingchun, we snap the wrist up at the last moment to add more impact. The move can also help you learn to relax your forearm and biceps even when moving your wrist around. A lot of the WC forms can be sort of cryptic because they just remind you of a certain concept instead of showing you the exact sequence of moves to use in a fight.

  • @bl00zjamma if you really want to learn: copy/paste/remove spaces h t t p : / / e n . w i k i b o o k s . o r g / w i k i / W i n g _ C h u n _ F o r m s / B i l _ J i e, watch this video and find each movement step by step. read the applications.

  • My Great Great Grandmaster, Moy Yat- artist & calligrapher.

Carved his Sifu, Ip Man's sayings into stone for the ages.

    So much respect.

  • Generally, you are meant to play Biu Jee with the highest energy, but for 'demonstration' it is sometimes done slowly.

Excellent post, I'm amazed this found its way to Youtube.

There is no Ip Man Biu Jee video. This is a perfect 'old school' reference.

  • this is Biu je but yes SLT should be done very slowly. it is a very good workout if you do it right.

  • Thanks for the Bil Gee, Si-suk!!

  • GREETINGS,

I HAVE ONE QUESTION AND IT'S THAT WHEN I BEGAN LEARNING V. TSUNG THE THE MASTER ASKED ME TO DO 'SIL LIM TAO' VERY SOLWLY,WHY IS THAT?

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE MASTER BENNY MENG, FILM AND ARTICLE ON LINE. SOME OF THE 70'S MOVIES ABOUT WING TSUNG ARE GREAT, SHE EVEN GETS KILLED BY A THROWING STARR, AFTER DEFENDING POOR POEPLE AND WINNIG IN HEROIC COMBAT!

  • @rosegerringer

Sil Lim Tao is the basic foundation of WC. Training the person to keep their balance and where is their center, teaching them that strength comes from the ground. You can do it fast if you want, but if you just started to learn you want to train yourself to have proper structure and that strength comes from the ground. So it's better to do it very slowly.

Yip Man does SLT for 20mins.

  • Plus my Gm is Chan Piu,Gm Kee Kam wing,& Gm Raymond Fogg in the mantis system. In Wc gm Garrett Gee & master Benny Meng plus other senior Kf brother of mine.Master Benny meng was a disciple of Moy Yat & trained with yip man son.Pan am,Chi sim,& Hung fa yi.Like you said good structure & how to react in Wc is very useful in stret situation.Wc is really more than martial science dealing with the anatomy & learnin the centerline, gate, trappin, etc.Ive been doing wc for over 30y kep on trainin my friend

  • If Ng Mui existed or not, no matter... The most of 3000 lienages of Kung Fu come of myths and;or legends... Try understand the essence of Kung Fu only for the fight is not good Kung Fu...

The lineage of Ip Man through Moy Yat is excellent and he said that no everyone will reach of the primor of Wing Chun. The techniques are passed will depend on each one and get to the highest level. Not everyone can see.

  • Can someone explain to me the purpose or effectiveness of the beginning where he just waves his hand back and forth and up and down?? I would really like to understand the reason for such a move.

  • @bl00zjamma It can break wrists.

  • @INexasI It can do what? Just how can that soft movement break a wrist? Seriously, how?

  • @bl00zjamma well thats practice for it there is a little bit more force used in actual application, but it looks almost exactly the same.

  • @INexasI , I meant I don't see how that move breaks wrists. What is the sequence of moves to accomplish that? How would that move break a wrist? Where is the leverage on the wrist applied? In what direction is the wrist broken?

  • Respond to this video... TO UNDERSTAND YOU MUST DO THE DRILLS, WHEN YOUR ON'' LAPSAU'' THEY TELL YOU TO NOT HOLD YOUR PARTNERS' ARM WITH A HARD KUNG FU GRIP, BUT A RELAXED CONTROLLING HOLD, OTHERWISE HE CAN PUSH HIS ENERGY TORWARD YOU AND HURT YOUR WRIST ! EXAMPLE: A STUPID WAS FOOLING AROUND WITH ME ONCE, HOLDING MY WRIST SO I MOVED MY HAND INTO HIS DIRECTION AND RELEASED HIS GRIP SO THAT HE LOOKED AT HIS OWN WRIST BECAUSE IT HURT HIM ! FUNNY HE . . .

    GO!!!❂

  • Respond to this video... YOU HAVE TO TAKE A GOOD TRADITIONAL VING TSUNG CLASS TO UNDERSTAND THAT . . . THING ABOUT THEM IS THAT THEY ARE INTO PUNCHING MORE THAN BREAKING, IF THEY ARE GOOD THEY DON'T EVEN NEED TO DO COMBAT TRICKS, IT'S BETTER TO OUT CLASS AN ASS HOLE!

BUT IN THE OLDEN DAYS THEY USED TO CUT OFF AND SLASH THE WRISTS OR TENDONS AND NECK!

  • @rosegerringer THOSE ARE LEFT & RIGTH HORIZONTAL BIL JEE.

  • @rosegerringer the book WING CHUN BIL JEE- BY WILLIAM CHEUNG IS VERY GOOD FOR THIS TOPIC ;FOR HE EXPLAINS THAT THE 3 MOVES TO THE SIDE AND DOWN ARE WAYS OF TRAINING YOUR HANDS TO MOVE JUST A LITTLE SO THE FINGERS DON'T BREAK WHEN YOU THRUST THEM INTO SOME ONES' EYES! SO HELLO AND GOOD LUCK, I was to soon old and to late smart in this style,so wait and see. . .

  • @rosegerringer THE BOOK BY WILLIAM CHEUNG BIL JEE EXPLAINS THE 3 MOVES WITH THE HANDS , THEY DO THAT TO TRAIN MOVING THE FINGERS SO THEY DON'T BREAK WHEN THEY ARE THRUST INTO SOMEONE'S EYES!

  • @rosegerringer HEY MY FRIEND IN DEPTH OF WING CHUN HAS THE 3 DIMENSION T/S/E.LASW OF THE UNIVERSE,HEAVEN,HUMAN,EARTH,& 4 STAGES OF COMBAT.IT CONSISTENT TO WHAT THEY LEARNED IN THE SHAOLIN TEMPLE ITS REALLY DEEP.

  • @policeluigi

The problem of lineage is i.m.o. overrated/overestimated. If one was a lousy but direct student of Yip Man, nobody should doubt his lineage - but makes this a good wingchun fighter at all? My advice: look out for a teacher who has obtained the right corporeal-physique. That means One who could stand, turn, step and kick without any shifting of his bodyweight. Moy Yat was such not! I commence Pupils of Leung Ting or Kernspecht (both most `hated´-Sifus). Learn the forms & practise!

  • I have been studying the Moy Yat Ving Tsun system for 11 years and trust me, his lineage is the real deal, direct from under Ip Man to Ng Mui. Any school you go to under his chops will be well worth taking a looking into at least.

  • @myvt00 Well my friend I teach & train WC for many years & i must enlighten you on some things.1st there was no Ng Mui it was just a myth because in the red boat & soap opera era the rebellion in the Ming or ching dynasty kept wc secret in the society.Cheung ng was the original founder of Wc beside the temple & general who made up the system.Plus there no record of women being in shaolin temple they wasnt allowed at the temple(When do you see women monks in KF movies) this come from Gm of all lg

  • @chineseeyes2006 WOMEN ARE USUALLY VERY WEAK; BUT I ONCE HAD A REAL SET OF PROBLEMS KEEPING UP WITH A VERY WELL TRAINED WOMAN WHO WAS ABOUT 20 YEARS OLDER THAN ME AT THE TIME, AND I TELL YOU IT WAS HELL, IN FACT I WISH YOU THE SAME THING SOME DAY BECAUSE IT'S SOME TIMES THE BEST WAY TO LEARN. . . IF YOU EVER HAVE THE GREAT LUCK TO BE IN A REAL KUNG FU ACADEMY THAT DOES VING TSUNG( NOT WATERS OR W/C )YOU WILL SEE WHATS REAL❂

  • @rosegerringer Oh tes my friend I teach Shaolin Ku 7 star preying Mantis & hung fa yi wc I'm a certified teacher that ben doing it since i was 7 back in 1976.I teach the women to fight & spar full contact with the guys & the women are a beast.Plus I do the same for the kids class as well, there is so much indepth of wc concepts, theories, history,& philosophy. The 3 dimensions, the laws of the universe,4 stages of comabt,T/s/e/,& Heaven.Human, earth just to say a few things. Some Wc has ground skills 2

  • @chineseeyes2006 How can one know that for sure ? The book (william chun bil jee) says Ng Mui ,( a nun?) then it says that wing chun was an orphan ect ect . In any event thanks for the answer .

  • @policeluigi In the first few weeks it "feels" like that, but later you will see so much more than simply "chain punch everything in your path"(not long just a little later) It truly is a hand to hand combat system that has practical application. "ECONOMY OF MOTION" Honestly, the more advanced you get the less you even want to use that technique, although it does work...speaking from my own experience and others I've spoken to.(for da record, the system does have kicks.)

  • one of the all time great sifus rest in peace sifu

  • is there a video of him doing chum kiu?

  • @moondragon05 not online but yes in his Ving Tsun Trilogy tape or in the Chum Kiu tape.

  • @vyvial i know it's on the tapes, but can someone put it online? :D

  • If u dont understand,then u havent been training

  • Ur training is everything.Application comes with training.

  • @tony7193 Well said sir! I could not agree more :)

  • He has good form, but he's looking down. Looking down will make you lean, and in Moy Yat, leaning is baaadddd. Otherwise good vid

  • Application is what I'd like to see not demonstration, I've seen better.

  • Hey jjc...ur right dont forget to work ur horse

  • Grand master's piece!! Honor to be taught by Sifu !!

  • NIce vid. Moy Yat's Biu Je is nice! Thanks for sharing. This is Gold!

  • i don't know the politics. That's why I didn't post it. I sure am happy to see Gun-Guns kung fu where the world can see it. With Youtube we can learn so much from all these vids. Like I say, I have the videotape, saw it in person too. But it sure is sweet to see him here!
