  • Very good I am doing the same with my flymo whipper snipper, but I might just use the whole whipper snipper and put a prop on the end, or I might attach an broom stick to the crank shaft and on the other end of the broom stick there will be an prop.

Check out my vid. "how to make an simple outboard motor"

  • @smallenginedude71 Good luck on your build. Let me know if you have any questions and I look farward to seeing more videos of your progress!

  • Hi, my weedeater don't have an expandable unit, removable lower section. Any advice on how can i make it much smaller like yours?

  • @zm123e It shouldn't be too hard. Do you know what kind of shaft it has inside? Solid or wound wire? If you have a solid shaft then you just need to cut one end off (probably the bottom) and then make the shorter shaft fit inside your gear head. Cut your outer tube the same amount and reinstall your gear head at the bottom.

  • Very informative. Good job. Thank you for going in depth, showing what all you did to modify your engine.

  • @ronaldhotboy - Your motor is a great build, keep going! Yours will be much more powerful then mine. It's nice to see somone who also takes pride in thier work and does thier research and is methodical. I think it's an "engineer" thing ;)

  • HOLY HELL! THIS IS THE VIDEO THAT INSPIRED ME TO MAKE MY OWN MOTOR!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it, at first i wanted to make a weedwacker outboard. so i searched and i ran across this video. I won a gift card to harbor freight so thats why i used their engine. Nice job on your build 1870, im so pumped!

  • Hi! I was wondering if there is a course I can take to learn how to do all of these by my self. Much appreciated.

  • I bought the brush cutter used off C-list for $40.

Then the throttle grip was $15, the prop was $20, the clutch lock-out plate cost the most at $90 and the mounting bracket cost $20, the rest was just odds and ends to get it running.

I'd say total I have about $200 into it. I'm not looking to sell it right, but thanks!

  • could give me a cost of the mount?and a another thing would you be willing to sell that to me? reply back tome fredi
