This fight was WAY harder then the fight with Double. Double is all about simple timing. This one... not so much. Being a close range attacker doesn't help in the slightest.

@DMSwordsmaster Acctually...Iris is only hard to do no damage clear. If you look around, you can find that you can corner Iris to do NDC easier.

for everyone thats asking about Zero's Black Armor, its an upgrade given to him by doctor light in X5 (stage where you fight X. look carefully and check every 'bottomless' pit. you can also get it by using a code at the character selection screen. google the code, I cant remember it.

Since she and Colonel originally were one reploid she was able to fuse the chip with her programming to transform. Zero caused too much damage in the fight because Iris was tougher than he expected and he couldn't help but accidently kill her. That's the official story anywho.

If Zero's in critical condition, Iris ejects the crystal on her own. From there, it's just a matter of well-timed Ryuenjins.

She didn't go maverick. She was upset that Zero and Colonel were fighting. When Zero killed Colonel, she was sad, but mostly pissed at herself for not being able to stop them. As a result, she combined Colonel's soul signature with her own. Because Iris's soul signature was peaceful and Colonel's was that of a warrior, it caused Iris a lot of pain. She fought Zero to avenge Colonel, but lost and died in the process.
