  • Nice. Mine should be finished come september :-) Not bothering with the Gilmour switch though...

  • Good Job but where is the switch ? come sto see and hear my own REPLICA david Gilmour on my page !

    cheers

  • how did you get the binding on the pickguard to come off?

  • i am doing one, but a relic model

  • no neck switch, no trem arm, other than that...nice

  • I just built a custom replica of gilmours. it has fat 50's, 69, and a seymour ducan. I also have a red strat set up like his and it uses the custom emg dg 20 pickups. like stevie bomd said. Buy the book. that is what i did and mine is set up exactly like david's. only difference is i used the re issued 57 neck and 62 body instead of the highly expensive. real deal.

  • Looks good!

    Got to hear it though.....

  • I made a Strat from All Parts, is a bit hard to find a decent vintage tremolo, no all the tremolos are good.

  • seems to there is a who;e bunch of people who know jack about the black strat! EMG's who??? Gilmours pick ups are standard strat originals front and mid, the rear is a seymour duncan! People if you really want to get to know Gilmour's Black Strat... do like i did and buy the fkn book ' The Black Strat' by none other than Phil Taylor (Gilmour's guitar Technician) £25 and worth every penny!!

  • if I'm thinkg right then Gilmour's black strat that he used in Pink floyd had a 3 bolt neck (not sure of this) but I am sure that Guitar Wolrd just did I big write-up about that guitar this last summer you might look it up to see about getting the pickups on spot and I do know that it had a trus rod that had the "Bullet" end on it

  • The Gilmour's Black Strat has 4 bolt neck...control on The Black Strat book by Phil Taylor, David Gilmour's guitar tech

    Bye

  • I am planning on making a replica (sort of) with a squier affinity strat and a black pickguard. I already have an HSS Fender w/ sunburst finish, and I kind of want something with SSS to expand my tonal range. I have been playing seriously for like 2 years, should i skip the Squier, or is it a good deal?

  • where did you get this?

  • hmmm whats missing then... great looking gtr but no bridge pick up switch as on the original Gilmour black strat.

  • There is a push push pot on the volume control that acts a the bridge switch.

  • i am going to make this come christmas!! well not technicaly a gilmour replica but an american standard with a black pick guard lol. so it will at least look pretty damn close lol

  • i need fkin help

theres this guitar that is like mint but i dont know wat it is i played it in spain go on bebo and type in on the search bar

dylan0191 click on the one with the pic of ricky hatton and then look at my pictures and click mystery guitar.please help me

  • Gilmour has EMG's on his...

    nice guitar BTW...

  • I know that he has emg's on his red strat, but i wouldnt say that its the nicer of the two.

  • i heard fender was actually coming out with a signiture edition... and selling it retai?

  • So where can I get a hold of the parts? *droooooling*

  • i got most of the parts from america.

    thanks

  • Congratulations!!!

    It's a great guitar ;)

Which pickups did you put on?

  • mid and neck are 54 customs. and the bridge is seymour duncan ssl1.

  • While having the same effect, the push/push toggle does not have the same look/feel as the mini toggle between the volume knob & 5 way switch!!

From looking at your upload, I'd say that's a Mexican '50s Classic neck you have there & not a '57 reissue as you stated!! The profile of the two are different...they are two different necks!!

All in all, though, I'm just another brick in your wall!! Nice Strat!!

  • it looks like a neck from a Fender Classic Player 50's wich does have e V-neck but still its not a 57' reissue

  • only two tings wrong with that guitar the bridge wich should have 6 screws and you miss the mini toggle switch wich combines the neck and bridge pickup.....

  • It has a push push toggle switch which combines the neck and bridge pickup. And the neck is a 57 reissue. I prefer the two point bridge to the six.

    thanks

  • the only thing is that he had a seventies neck

  • The guitar has now got a 57'reissue neck on it and have not had a 70's style neck since the mid 70'ties

  • ok ok how much? I want one.

  • £444 all genuine american fender parts exept the neck whick is mexican

  • wow joe... that must really have taken some super slick elbow grease for you to have been able to put together such a masterpiece. if only i could follow in your legendary footsteps and produce such a great tribute to a man worthy of such praise...david gilmour the god that he is...alongside other statuatory figures like uncle john, mr swystun and elliot vassalo. some day maybe i will understand your tastes joe ...but for now... see you on monday at climbing... we gonna overhang to da max

  • Wow! What a nice replica you've got! I like David Gilmour and Pink Floyd very much and your guitar is just brilliant! I like it!

  • thanks alot mate
