I am HUGE Usain Bolt fan love watching him and he is easily the fastest runner to ever exist, he is an incredible athlete really. When i watched Usain get the world record I couldnt stop smiling, shouting and i punched the air with total excitement. When i watch Michael come out of the last corner and start pulling away i don't even move and cant even speak and my eyes fill up. There have been so many world records over the years. Growing up as a kid and first getting into the sport this was a record that was really just 'WOW'. Something about those numbers - 19.32.....plus reading MJ's book ''Slaying the Dragon'' gave this record a mystique of sorts. I took the day off from College in 2008 to see whether Bolt could beat it or not in Beijing ;-)

Actually, this was no more of a shock than Usain Bolt's Beijing performance.

In this race, Johnson lowered his PB from 19.66 to 19.32. In Beijing, Bolt lowered his from 19.67 to 19.30.

Before the race he wasn't even the fastest in the field (Spearmon had run 19.65). No knowledgeable athletics fan genuinely thought he would break Johnson's record.
