  • I'm not understanding the current american 'philosophy' that just because someone has insurance that the insurer must 'pay whatever claims are presented to them', with no regards to cost, containment, economics, and values. To put in simpler terms: If you were being sued personally, would you just pay whatever the claimant presented to you, or would your research it, check it, and make sure it was legitimate to the claim presented? I believe you would. So does your, and their, insurer.

  • say what you want my lawyer friend. Your out to make money just like ALL businesses. Sending me a message that i dont know what im talking about is pretty unprofessional. Glad your not my lawyer. now i know why you have so much trouble with Allstate. Good luck and dont get run over by the next ambulance and fire truck your chasing....you might have to sue yourself!!!

  • im not saying all law firms are like this but 85-90% of the info the lawyer needs is the personal injury and bodily policy limits PERIOD! all insurance companies try to minimize expenses ITS A BUSINESS. welcome to america where the corporations run things and its all about money. your a lawyer trying to get a settlement for your client, fine. but that does not mean the insurance company is going to make it easy for you guys. see how happy a lawyer get when the medical adjuster is working a claim

  • to single out allstate just means they are the insurance company that gives the most resistance to what you are trying to accomplish, well your a lawyer and thats the name of the game. there was nothing revealed in this presentation, no new information provided. just the fact that your trying to do whats right for your client and allstate does not make it easy for you. ALL INSURANCE companies basically work the same way.

  • and third, the point you made about ALLSTATE discouraging claimants from hiring an attorney is absolutely false!! zippo zilch wrong, furthest from the truth!! the attorney(if used by claimant)is immediately added to the claim as soon as the letter of rep is sent in. no discussions whatsoever take place between the claimant and an allstate rep THE LAWYER IS THE SOLE CONTACT WHEN THIS OCCURS. now allstate may have some chinks and quirks as do all insurance companies. but dont single ALLSTATE out.

  • hmmmmm DC, Virginia, MD? I agree with guitarheroash. Im sure there are no money grubbing lawyers and sue happy people in that area!!! I'd love to see what the ''victim'' gets after the lawyer gets his cut! Bet its less than if they settled on their own with an impartial arbitrator. Maybe people should see how much this group of victim reps. takes from the clients they are "helping". You can bet your life theses guys arent working for $20/hr!!!!!!!!!

  • I, as most personal injury attorneys, work on a contingency fee, meaning I do not get paid until a case settles. I get paid as a percentage of what I recover for my client. I take both large and small cases (which distinguishes my firm from many others.) Some cases I make more, some less. If I do not prevail, I do not get paid.

You have no idea how badly most people need help when dealing with insurance companies.

Your comment reflects that you do not know what you are talking about.

  • I am a contractor and the WORST COMPANY IS ALLSTATE! This attorney is 100% correct about ALLSTATE! This attorney needs to respond as I will share with him some EXCELLENT INFO that I got from an Attorney that successfully sued Allstate. Attorneys make me want to be a better Public Adjuster.

  • humm, a trial lawyer who likes to hijack insurance companies for millions of dollars doesn't like an insurance company. Tell us something we don't know you ambulance chaser

  • Well, I am a trial lawyer, and I am proud to be one. Guitarheroash seems to have some issue with trial lawyers in general, but I gather he has never been on the receiving end of one of Allstate's tactics. Automobile collisions that I handle all range from very large catastrophic injuries, to very small amounts of money that can be the difference between making rent and homelessness to my clients. My clients are people, by the way, who have real problems that need help.
