You can adjust the choke VERY EASY, loosen the two Flat Head screws around the Round Choke heater, and turn it one way for winter and one way for summer. It will do just about the same thing as you are doing with your finger
I remember one of these from a friend's motorhome. The main engine on it was a dodge 440 so the Onan could use the same tank as the chassis. I know the one I saw had a real ignition coil and distributor rather than a magneto you usually find on small gas engines.
I seem to recall hearing about a real small diesel engine too...it may be Chinese though. Not sure if it was made into a genset.
Those old Dodge RV's with the 440's are FAST!! My Grand Father has a 1972 Winnebago Indian and it can hit over 100MPH but you can see the fuel gauge go down lol and the thing is a perfect square box so it shakes a lot in the wind.
