  • i`ve only been on the piano for about a minute and with the chords you used i`ve been able to make an improvisation that just sounds like how i`ve always wanted to play piano but never really known how to achieve such a sound, thanks for a good video :D

  • que acordes usas?

    that consistent use?

  • Muy bueno, good job !

  • I'm quite new to piano. Could one learn piano starting with blues rather than the traditional way? Second question would be, would you recommend it? Ultimately this is the style I want to play. Thanks for this and your other videos!

  • @auggiedoggy

YOU CAN LEARN ANY STYLE YOU WANT!! AS LONG AS YOU PRACTICE YOUR SCALES, LEARN TO READ MUSIC AND AND UNDERSTAND THE THEORY OF MUSIC

  • If this is the D blues scale where is the Bb7 chord coming from ? Like whats the progression here ? I-III-?-?

    I'm so confused ^_^

  • dude you're awesome

  • wow amazing thanks alot. hey have u checked the message i sent?

  • great stuff bro!!!

  • you always play the scale which sounds very like a major scale, i want to play the old blues which is very sad and there i should not use the major scale ?

But which Scale should i use?

  • No he uses a blues scale and so should you.

Well for blues anyway. But mix it up a bit. no reason to limit yourself to only playing the blues scale.

  • Really useful thanks

    I always sucked at improvising.

  • gooooooood

  • Good stuff! Probably a good idea to zoom in just enough, so you still see all the keys you play. (missed part of the chords sometimes) Also, it'd be a real help if you could write down the chords and things in the sidebar, I'm a beginner and don't know any chords by heart yet... Thanks a lot.

  • You have Great Piano skills! I would like to invite you to visit my channel, I think you will like the piano tutorials. Please feel free to subscribe to my channel as we upload new videos often.

but sorta hard to learn from

it would be sweet to explain more (X

  • Thanks Guru! I've just started playing with my dads band "rockabilly, rock 'n' roll style" and this has helped me a lot considering I'm a guitarist and only a few weeks ago I only improvised around the chords themself!

  • Great lesson! The one thing I need to work on is the rhythm of the blues piano. You got it down! I'm just trying to copy the rhythms you got on there...thank you so much!

  • Thanks man really helpfull ive posted my results has a vid response check it out and thanks again.

  • 10/10 love blues

  • And by the way: I cannot tell how thankful I am!

You're a really cool guy thx man, when i compare u with my music teacher i can say u are like thousand times better, and know much more than him!

  • when this is D there should be an f sharp at the beginning, shouldn't it? Thats what my music teacher in school said, and now im really confused because i have to do my own blues but in this sheme (example): D-D-D-D ; B-B-D-D ; A-B-D-D, And this what u play here sounds like a blues but its a completely other sheme.

  • Hey,

I am playing the D Blues scale which is based a bit on the D minor scale, in that it has an F natural in whereas D major has an F#.

The chords I am improvising around are based on the minor. You may have been asked to do a blues song in the 12 bar blues sequence. In that case base your song around:

D, G and A, improvising over the scale I show in the video.

    D-F-G-G#-A-C-D

    Hope this helps.

    Ben

  • Hey thx man! So can i play like this:

    D-D-D-D ; F-F-D-D; A-F-D-D

Ben(We have the same Name :D)

  • Hey, Yeah. As a right hand solo that would be pretty cool.

Try using the G# when you can. So a run like:

    G#-G-F-D would sound pretty cool.

    Hope this helps =)

  • Thx :D

Yes i need to do a 12-bar blues sequenze, someone is goin to play the chords and some other stuff, someone is going to sing,I did something now, the chrods in the left hand are now like u said D-D-D-D ; G-G-D-D; A-G-D-D

but im still not sure if i can use them like this.

  • @BQSurfer is echt nicht schlcht (: gefällt mir auch sehr gut ... (: möchte auch grade gern jazz/blues piano lernen ... bin aber autodidakt ----> habs nirgends gelernt -.- ...
