I don't know why people hate on the Orange Box set, I mean yeah the screen is cut a bit but it ain't even that big a deal. And you have that sick marathon mode which I hear the Dragon Box set does not. I mean if your a real DBZ fan, you'll be aight with the Orange Brick Set... I know I am. I just have to get Season 2 of GT and the Dragon Ball seasons ( along with like 4 of the double/triple features ) and I'll be able to relive the whole series WHENEVER ! :)

i got the orange box set back in 2007 till 2009 when they were all done and kinda mad i paid like 30ish plus when they were first released. no idea there were a dragon box set till this year and mad about that. i am getting dragonball Z kai coz its amazing and no filler! i may sell the DBZ orange box set and buy the dragon box set.

The only problems is that 2cm are black on the top and bottom of the episodes. Loss of quality? I saw none. The orange box sets are pretty good, and I have no reason to get the Dragonbox sets because those are too expensive, and are almost like the orange box sets just with 5% better quality

can someone tell me if the widescreen for these is really that bad? i hear everybody saying that the wisescreen is really bad and some of the detail in the episodes are gone or something and to just get the dragonbox sets but i didnt want to get it because its more for the japanese version and plus i like the Faulconer music better. so was just wondering if these series sets were really that bad i cant seem to find any videos showing what it actually looks like when u play it.

@geminiwolf91 my friend you have to consider 2 things: whether you like the original-authentic quality of the 80's anime, dragonball z, or you like the one that you like, with the faulconer music. if you are a dbz fan then buy the dragonbox, if you are just a viewer of the sseries, then take the orangeboxes that you prefer. whereas if you are a true DBZ-HOLIC-COLLECTOR, THEN you have to BUY THEM ALL, AS I DID!!!! :)

@GHSH1 lol remastered sets quality is pure eyebleeding . They brightened the picture to extreme heights cSing everyone to look very pale and the colors are just way off from the original dragonbox remastered quality which are the true colors. I sold my brick sets for the dragonboxes and I am so much happier

dragonbox is just the original, and not widescreen.

I rather watch this boxes then dragonbox, cause it fits very good on my hd television, and the quality is amazing.

Beside there both uncut, so theres no diffrence on that part accept the rate.

@jcmartinez1990 Yeah, i just bought one (season 4). They're all funimation and I beleve Bruce faulconer music starts at season 3. So the seasons 1 and 2 have the boring score. There are plenty sound options (you can change the music while watching) but screen options are limited. Still great boxes. Also, I don't know if you're in region 1, but it doesn't work in region 2 though it says on the box it should. So I had to watch it on my xbox :-/ one more thing: no rock the dragon opening

I got all the original single DBZ DVD's on DVD. They are 4:3 and have the english track. Also from Captain Ginyu and on they are completly uncut. Plus I like the Old Ocean dub better in the pioneer dvd's

I got the Dragon Box Two weeks ago and i have dbz remastered seasons 1-7. The dragon boxes quality is amazing and all but i cant enjoy the series with the Japanese music, so im just going to get the last two remastered sets im missing. Hopefully one day they can come out with dbz with the dragon box quality and all 3 tracks on blu-ray; then ill will re buy the series.

LOL DragonBox is the definitive DBZ experience, restored frame by frame by the original creators of the anime. It's more than likely it'll have the US music, even though the only good US soundtracks are Vegeta's SSJ theme and SSJ3 theme.

I saw comparisons between the footage, the Dragon Box has better picture.. without changing the colors. That said I love how it looks, and it indeed is better than the season sets. I didn't know much about the Dragon Box before FUNi announced it, but I was aware of it.

Alright, lets clarify a few things.

You are aware, "FUCKimation" is the company that is releasing these Dragon Boxes to the US thanks to Toei right? Not Ocean Dub or anything. And the reason these abominable remastered sets exist is because Toei was acting like a bunch of stuck up assholes and decided the Dragon Box should stay exclusive to japan. So FUNimation went to remaster the series for their viewers. And then finally, after the sets were all done, Toei decided to give us the Dragon Box.
