I always wonder what happens to Kathryn Railly at the end. I always wonder why she didn't or couldn't raise the alarm about the virus at the end or how long she survived until the virus killed her. It's a shame. I guess I could ask the same about the other characters too.

i was very confused at the end... not confused by whole scene.. But the end of love..when cole was killed.. i saw in that kid hope...or light to change it... its like u never stop dreaming however u cant change faith... Iam mean that's the point... Cole was on mission save the world... but not world of polution,crime,agression.... But life of Love... and people killed that love..because we all made mistakes..and we act as we are GODS. iam sad of this ending... becuase i saw there myself.

I think the woman scientist is at least an equal hero to Cole if not greater. She willingly take the risk to die by exposing herself to the virus. She shakes the hand to the man anybody would like to strangle...To be sure she gets the pure germ. And she can't kill him, she wished she could, but she cannot, because if would change the whole future. They can't travel in time if there is not 5B people who dies... She also knows Cole has just been shot...she can't cry, but she liked him...

How can someone , except James COLE, Pr.RAILLY, & Dr PETERS, KNOW that the source of contamination WAS Dr. PETERS ??? No one could know that in the future...there is no tracks....COLE dies after forcing a police stop in airport, PERIOD....Dr PETERS is never mentioned, nowhere, no tracks of him or his contamination projects...

Generally, I like what you did here, but you missed her smile at the end. That's so important. It is moment she "acknowledges" him as a boy, not just the moment she "sees" him. It is the Mona Lisa smile, not just the glance, that will stay with him as he grows up. Oh well, still nice to see this scene again.

Yall should check out my metal version of 12 Monkeys. Meant to be cheesy...if you have a sense of humor you will laugh. As for what yall are talking about...I think that Cole is in a constant loop...but each time I think the future keeps getting the information from when Cole goes in the past...so each time this happens...the people in the future get closer and closer to eliminating the virus. im having trouble explaining this in words, but put what im saying together and youll get the idea.

No, it all happens only once. A - Cole is born, B - his older self "enters" the past, C - he sees the death of his older self, D - armageddon, E - Cole is sent to the past.

This is how it happens for everyone else. But for Cole, who actually travels in time, it all looks like A - C - D - E - B - C. No loop, total predictability.

Cole dies, and the future humanity is presumably saved by the woman scientist that gets infected with the virus at the end of the movie and thus carries its sample.

The silver lining might be the part on the plane before the very end. It doesn't show it here, which sucks, but the woman that the guy who has the virus sits next to is one of the people that sent Bruce back in time. Her last line when she greets the guy is, "I'm in insurance."

So while it doesn't necessarily end well for Bruce, he might've accomplished his mission. Finding the cause of the strain, and letting his people know about it.

a very depressing movie. it's very possible that cole is stuck in a constant loop, so then you begin to think that maybe every scene in the film could have already happened a billion times or more. so i can't see any silver lining to this movie, except for the possibility that cole could in fact be mentally ill, and that any proof that there is a virus, is only in his imagination, and what we see on screen is just cole's warped interpretation of what isn't happening.

It's not something that happens once - but something that is a cycle. Boy sees his future self get shot, grows up, gets shot watched by a boy seeing his future self get shot etc. etc.

I can never understand why people get so confused over this. It's not something that happens over and over- it just happens once. The boy sees a man get shot and killed. The boy grows up, goes back in time, and turns out to be the man who got shot and killed. That's it.

So if Cole lived and they sent him back again, he wouldn't necessarily have to be in the airport at that moment in time again...

or maybe he WOULD be at the airport, he would see himself get shot, AND he would see himself as a kid. Because every time he travels back to that place in time he just juxtaposes himself into the scene.
