Hey guys i started a new campaign on Mass effect to get level 60. I was just wondering if thats going to screw up my overall game saying that i didn't beat the game because i started a new campaign? Is it going to do that or is it it just going to combine with everything i've already done in the game?
@HammerDown328 As long as you finish on this new game, it'll be fine. If you're asking if you can still import, the endgame file is created upon completion of the game, so you will not get a new endgame save until you beat the game again. In terms of missions and things you do throughout the game, it will not recognize what you did in the previous one; you need to do it again.
@contractki11er No, this is the first game I literally felt dizzy with the motion blur enabled. Had to disable it and it was better. Did you find it dizzy?
I hate Mass Effect II. It's a dumbed-down, profanity-laden, class-siphoned version of the original Mass Effect. I kinda think like they sold out to appease the faggy Halo fanboys who couldn't handle a sophisticated, classy sci-fi shooter.
Liara is who best represents Mass Effect 1, while "Jack" is the utter personification of Mass Effect 2.
@Mcheetah O_o Mass Effect 2 wasn't anymore profane than the first one. They are both rated M I really didn't see that much difference between the two. If you want toned down play Final Fantasy or Star Ocean, and Liara and Jack personifying the games is ridiculous. What about Tali or Garrus I think they hold way more sway in both of the games than Liara or Jack.
I did a stupid thing i played the second mass effect before the first because i didn't like it this much at the beggening to play both but know that i finished ME2 i want to play the first one too but i don't know if i would like it too much now that i have played the second.Please can someone who has played both give me an opinion?
@framerunner1987 for some reason ME reminds me of deadspace also. Perhaps its the creepy levels sometimes that have the same scenery and appeal that dead space had.

As someone else said, Mass Effect is one of the best games I have ever played. I don't know how anyone can develop a story that engrossing and that original. Replay is also better then any other game I have ever played.
Sure some parts get a touch repetitive but thats all RPGs. Final Fantasy VI is repetitive as hell but its still a utterly fantastic game.

On Xbox i only play racing games like forza motorsport 3 because pc has no decent racing games. But most of the time i play pc games, mainly rpg's and adventures.

I will go into more detail if you ask but the premise of the lie they are trying to force into your spirit is this.
You play the Anti-Christ in the end times. Chaos is occurring somewhere(always chaos). The "evil doer"(God character) is coming to kill the "hu"-man race(judgment). You stop the "evil-doer" and save(and also "liberate") humanity from God.
Think on Halo: The primary enemies in Halo were The Covenant(Gods promise to Noah), and THE FLOOD! They even had a "God" in the game!

It set a much darker tone and raised the emotional bar for many different aspects, there was a deeper look into ethics and culture than the first game and characters had a much greater role channeled through the story itself making them more likeable and believeable in the long run.
Not to mention the surprise revalation about the Protheans and the ending that left us all eager for the finale.
No I just said that ME1 story was better. If u look how much older the game is u can look past the "deeper look into ethics and culture" of ME2. The Protheans part was very good in ME2 but thats just about the only very good scene. ME1 had better story.
I disagree, I'm not saying the first game was bad (hell, it was one of the best stories I've been introduced to) but the story in the first game was just the introduction to me.

Though, different branches of ME 1's plot were amazing - like Saren and how he became the hero in the end (for me).

I've been playing Mass Effect ever since it came out in 2007 and I can tell you it's without a doubt my favourite RPG... ever.
You shape your own story from the beginning and appearance, you're dropped right into the middle of an epic story which expands and becomes pretty dark and personal. Your choices shape the future (they have a massive impact on ME 2).
It's very easy to get used to, the controls are simple and the combat system if fairly seamless. You'll love it.

@MrLetsReview: I would recommend playing the first Mass Effect if the second one looks intriguing to you. Mass Effect is a fantastic game. Great storyline, great voice acting....everything. One of the most engrossing games I've ever played.
You can jump right into 2 without any prior knowledge to the first game, but I would -highly- recommend that you play through the first game first, and then carry your character from the first game over into the second. It'll enrich the experience, and it'll be the story of -your- character rather than the "default" main character they make. Some of the decisions you make in the first game will carry over into the first as will as the third when it is made and finished.

Mass Effect is available at the store near my place. I'll give it a try but I have Red Faction to finished, Borderlands yet to play. Maybe i'll get it after I'm done with Borderlands. and people said Resident Evil 5 is good too. hmmmm.... XD
didn't really like Resident Evil 5, for 1 its in Day-time, 2 they give you a laser sight to aim with in the DAY TIME, 3 this makes it specially hard in coop.
The best RE are RE 2, RE 4, and RE 1. For RE 1, I strongly recommand REbirth (the Gamecube remake with updated graphics, and expanded story and way more aeras). GameCube games can also run on a Wii console.
@EddieChute I think I need to actually play Deadspace. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews, but the most I've heard about it is that it's apparently a pretty basic Sci Fi action game trying to be a horror game while completely missing the point ow what 'scary' actually means.
@CaptVickHartnell Anyone who passes on dead space is missing out. It's not an action game at all..its survival to the core. It makes doom 3 and resident evil look like childs play. Dead space 2 had to be toned down on the horror level because dead space 1 was considered so scary that people couldn't play it for more than 30 mins at a time. Then again dead space 2 focuses more on the dementia and winds up being more fucked up then the first. It takes a part of your mind when you finish it:)
The game doesn't work on Windows 7 64-bit, even with all updates it still won't load. All other games that I installed are workig great (and they support my xbox 360 controller for windows).
Hahaha, man, I am on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and the game work perfectly. Just right click on the short cut, propreties, compatibility, and check the ''run program in'' or wathever what it is (the first), then select windows XP SP3.

However, I did managed to force it to load, but the cpu stays all the time at 100%, and later on I even "fixed" it so that it supports my controller, but the fps wasn't that good, so I give up (for now), maybe they fix it in the future, you never know...
This game's flaws are easy to look over when you play the story. This is in my top 10 for best single player campaign experience. The side quests are usually just "okay", and planet exploration is "okay", but it's really the campaign that makes the immersive main story that makes it brilliant.
A tip to newcomers: Try not to go sniper rifles on the first play-through, and try to use more than one gun. Soldier is more traditional, while Biotics is like a mage (force powers).
I lost track on how many times I finished it, but I guess I'm on my 7th playthrough I think
Though I don't have much achievements for 7 playthroughs... After a while I get tired of it and I finish it quickly, missing out the companion achievements.
Anyway, I love(d) this game and I'm anxious for the next part, but I don't want my sheppard dead T_T Guess if he dies I'll need to replay it so he lives I guess xD
I haven`t played Fallout yet, but I highly recommend this game. It might be a bit boring from the beginning but as you progress it becomes almost adictive. The story itself is better than Star Wars`es.
Dude I seriously was playing this about ten minutes before I typed this, buy it. I mean you don't have to, but the sequel is coming out soon, and if you get this then your choices follow you to the second one, if you didn't already know that.
This one is probably a lot better in most opinions, Fallout 3 just has more of a variety to explore and more of an open ended story-line. Mass Effect how ever is my favorite video game. The story-line, game-play, graphics, and sound is amazing. Depends also if you like FPS(First Person Shooter) or OTS(Over the Shoulder). If you want a game with more of an open world and get Fallout 3. Both are great. My opinion, and this is MY opinion, I would get Mass Effect

Are you saying ME 2's story was bad? You must be bloody joking!
It set a much darker tone and raised the emotional bar for many different aspects, there was a deeper look into ethics and culture than the first game and characters had a much greater role channeled through the story itself making them more likeable and believeable in the long run.
Not to mention the surprise revalation about the Protheans and the ending that left us all eager for the finale.

No I just said that ME1 story was better. If u look how much older the game is u can look past the "deeper look into ethics and culture" of ME2. The Protheans part was very good in ME2 but thats just about the only very good scene. ME1 had better story.

I disagree, I'm not saying the first game was bad (hell, it was one of the best stories I've been introduced to) but the story in the first game was just the introduction to me.
What does the ethics and culture part have anything to do with your reply? It's not relative to what you're saying.
Though, different branches of ME 1's plot were amazing - like Saren and how he became the hero in the end (for me).
And really? The ONLY very good scene? There were many, many more than just that.

Well lets just agree that we disagree. Both games are great and both have their problems. I just had more fun whit ME1 then in 2.

@BigBossLegacy Hi, first of all yes you can take your caracter from ME1 do ME2 and its an game where you can have a lot of hours of fun, its considered an rpg but i think its more of a third person shooter but like i sayd its a game with many hours of fun and i don´t know why people say ME1 is better because ME2 is really great and very good produced but of course everyone has their own opinion and its true that ME1 is a great game

I've been playing Mass Effect ever since it came out in 2007 and I can tell you it's without a doubt my favourite RPG... ever.
You shape your own story from the beginning and appearance, you're dropped right into the middle of an epic story which expands and becomes pretty dark and personal. Your choices shape the future (they have a massive impact on ME 2).
It's very easy to get used to, the controls are simple and the combat system if fairly seamless. You'll love it.

@MrLetsReview: I would recommend playing the first Mass Effect if the second one looks intriguing to you. Mass Effect is a fantastic game. Great storyline, great voice acting....everything. One of the most engrossing games I've ever played.

You can jump right into 2 without any prior knowledge to the first game, but I would -highly- recommend that you play through the first game first, and then carry your character from the first game over into the second. It'll enrich the experience, and it'll be the story of -your- character rather than the "default" main character they make. Some of the decisions you make in the first game will carry over into the first as will as the third when it is made and finished.

Mass Effect is available at the store near my place. I'll give it a try but I have Red Faction to finished, Borderlands yet to play. Maybe i'll get it after I'm done with Borderlands. and people said Resident Evil 5 is good too. hmmmm.... XD

didn't really like Resident Evil 5, for 1 its in Day-time, 2 they give you a laser sight to aim with in the DAY TIME, 3 this makes it specially hard in coop.

RE 5 is a waste of money if you're looking for a story.
But that's with every RE anyway.. But as a fan of the series, I was really disappointed with RE 5.

The best RE are RE 2, RE 4, and RE 1. For RE 1, I strongly recommand REbirth (the Gamecube remake with updated graphics, and expanded story and way more aeras). GameCube games can also run on a Wii console.

@EddieChute I think I need to actually play Deadspace. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews, but the most I've heard about it is that it's apparently a pretty basic Sci Fi action game trying to be a horror game while completely missing the point ow what 'scary' actually means.

@CaptVickHartnell Anyone who passes on dead space is missing out. It's not an action game at all..its survival to the core. It makes doom 3 and resident evil look like childs play. Dead space 2 had to be toned down on the horror level because dead space 1 was considered so scary that people couldn't play it for more than 30 mins at a time. Then again dead space 2 focuses more on the dementia and winds up being more fucked up then the first. It takes a part of your mind when you finish it:)

The game doesn't work on Windows 7 64-bit, even with all updates it still won't load. All other games that I installed are workig great (and they support my xbox 360 controller for windows).
What a waste of money...

Hahaha, man, I am on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and the game work perfectly. Just right click on the short cut, propreties, compatibility, and check the ''run program in'' or wathever what it is (the first), then select windows XP SP3.

@xXGOPOGOXx too late my friend, I already uninstalled it, but next time when I install it I will try your solution.
However, I did managed to force it to load, but the cpu stays all the time at 100%, and later on I even "fixed" it so that it supports my controller, but the fps wasn't that good, so I give up (for now), maybe they fix it in the future, you never know...

This game's flaws are easy to look over when you play the story. This is in my top 10 for best single player campaign experience. The side quests are usually just "okay", and planet exploration is "okay", but it's really the campaign that makes the immersive main story that makes it brilliant.
A tip to newcomers: Try not to go sniper rifles on the first play-through, and try to use more than one gun. Soldier is more traditional, while Biotics is like a mage (force powers).

I lost track on how many times I finished it, but I guess I'm on my 7th playthrough I think
Though I don't have much achievements for 7 playthroughs... After a while I get tired of it and I finish it quickly, missing out the companion achievements.
Anyway, I love(d) this game and I'm anxious for the next part, but I don't want my sheppard dead T_T Guess if he dies I'll need to replay it so he lives I guess xD

I haven`t played Fallout yet, but I highly recommend this game. It might be a bit boring from the beginning but as you progress it becomes almost adictive. The story itself is better than Star Wars`es.

Dude I seriously was playing this about ten minutes before I typed this, buy it. I mean you don't have to, but the sequel is coming out soon, and if you get this then your choices follow you to the second one, if you didn't already know that.

This one is probably a lot better in most opinions, Fallout 3 just has more of a variety to explore and more of an open ended story-line. Mass Effect how ever is my favorite video game. The story-line, game-play, graphics, and sound is amazing. Depends also if you like FPS(First Person Shooter) or OTS(Over the Shoulder). If you want a game with more of an open world and get Fallout 3. Both are great. My opinion, and this is MY opinion, I would get Mass Effect
